🚢🚗🧌 Here’s everything we did on our day trip from @visitseattle to @visitbainbridgeislandwa! • Breakfast at @blackbirdbakerybainbridge • Pickleball at Founders Courts (@jacobthefu was so excited to play here and we played with someone who was there when it was being invented!) • Hike through Grand Forest • Lunch at @basarestaurant • Had tea at @bainbridgapothecaryandtea • Visited Pia the Peacekeeper Troll by artist Thomas Dambo • Strolled through @bloedelreserve • Paid our respects to Chief Sealth (whom Seattle was named after) • Shopped local in Bremerton on the @visitkitsappeninsula PRO TIPS FOR VISITING BAINBRIDGE ISLAND • The ferry to Bainbridge Island leaves roughly every 50 minutes and takes roughly 35 minutes. • You get great skyline views of Seattle since the ferry leaves from downtown. Most people stayed in their cars, but it’s worth getting out to see the city. • The ferry on summer weekends and holidays can have long waits. We went in early October and had no waits. • Business hours tend to be more limited on the islands, so double-check before planning your day. • If ferry times don’t work out and you’re going out to the Kitsap Peninsula, you can always drive back. Depending on timing, it may be faster, but there are tolls. This is the first Adventure Lab I've completed ever (I didn't know how to do them before) and I'm glad it was a Dambo Troll! 🧌 Met some cachers from Chicago on the trail who voted me in to a bonus regular geocache hidden along the way, easy to snag 2 in 1 day 😀 Kili's Lament GC9BPNC Bring trinkets! The Troll was amazing and I really enjoyed the little walkabout. The air in the woods 🪵 smelled crisp and fresh. TYFT Lab & bonus cache!

Pia is an incredible sight to behold, but more interesting is watching the droves of people arrive to visit her. Great walking paths in her environment. Only 5 parking spaces, so prepare to park across the street at Ordway. Great spot for a picnic and to see a masterful sustainable sculpture. The field around her is worthy of more giant trolls! If every visitor of Pia made a $20 purchase on BI during their visit the $90k/yr to have her was well worth the spend. Witnessed hundreds of visitors on a Thursday afternoon over the course of a few hours. Highly recommend visiting...

I feel bad for our "peacekeeper"...there is no proper markers "Troll" No "beding for him to be sitting on or people to walk on, No benches for people to sit and enjoy, it's not a Happy visit, Pia looks SAD. You might go visit Oscar The Bird King and see how HAPPY he is and how HAPPY the people around him are to see.
