Bene Pizza — Restaurant in Bainbridge Island

Was excited to try this place after seeing a Facebook post about how great it was. And supporting local is a plus. Went in and ordered, the young girl at the front was not the nicest, and when I asked if I could add ingredients to a pizza she said they couldn’t do that. I ended up ordering a larger size pizza to take home to the family and for work. The wait was about 35 minutes and when we went to check at the 30 minute mark the same girl was rude, and said you will get a text. The pizza looked pretty good, but the prosciutto looked a bit off in color (gray-ish :/) and just thrown on top. I ate a slice and over all the flavor was lacking. And now my stomach is gurgling and not happy. My friend who also ordered Takeout: she eat a slice of her own and was very disappointed. She ended up throwing hers out and wasted $28 … mine will be joint hers with a wasted $40… we...

Okay...so I’m not usually one to post on yelp—but the experience at Bene yields some public sharing. My fiancé and I were here tonight grabbing a quick drink while we waited for our pizza to go. There was some mix up in the kitchen and holy moly—the owner made sure everyone in the restaurant knew about it. He screamed at his employees and punched every imaginable surface while expressing his frustration. Pause a second....whaaaaat? This is not the first time we have had an “odd” experience at Bene pizza, but this was exceptionally bizarre. This behavior lasted for over five minutes straight (not kidding). We had some fabulous food at Bene's - these people are serious about their pizza and it shows!

What made it extra special for me is that when I asked for an ingredient to be removed because of a food sensitivity, they didn't just remove it or say no. They actively considered how to replace the flavor with something else I could eat in order to make it as good of an experience at possible. It was very thoughtful and I have never experienced this elsewhere! We don't live nearby, but we'll definitely be back!

There isn't indoor seating currently (not sure if that's just summer or all year) so dress to sit outside or do takeout....
