AMC Bakersfield 6 — Attraction in Bakersfield

I have a membership & take my son & father all the time, everything usually goes fine. On Monday, my son & I went to see Endgame at the 4 pm showing & I've never had a worse experience at a movie theater. Half way through the movie (it's long) we went out for a bathroom break & soda. My son purchased my icee while I went to the restroom. When I came out, he was still at the counter & I could clearly see the girl behind the counter ignoring him. He was waiting for a lid & told me that she was rude, rolled her eyes & said she'll get it in a few (there was other patrons around) I asked the girl at the front counter (reading a magazine) if she could restock the lids. She said "There are already some over there", I walked over & seen there was none. When I told her, she seemed so angry that she had to slam her magazine on the counter, roll her eyes & walk over to confirm what I said. Then she said she'd be back. I watched her go into one of the theaters a movie was playing in & she never did come back out. It's not what you say, but how you say it & those two girls were the rudest & I don't understand why? What happened to maintaining quality customer service? I've noticed that this is lacking in many establishments. When choosing employees for a companies team, that should be a important deciding factor. People, if you work in customer service, please make sure you make a effort to be pleasant. I know that there are a lot of a-holes out there that can ruin it for you, but there are still many of us out here that really appreciate the effort & it is what will make the...

AMC did a lot to upgrade this facility with roomie seats that recline and an ample food and beer selection... not to mention, you can prepick your seats!

However, the last two times I have been there, they have had issues with their films which seem to boil down to human error. I purchased a ticket for a 2d film, and some how they started showing the 3d version. Several people let staff know and they said they were going to change it, but 10 minutes in, they just decided to hand out 3d glasses. I am not able to watch 3d films, so unfortunately I had to leave after I planned a fun day with my nephew.

The next incident they forgot to turn off the house lights once the film started (Avengers opening weekend) until several people went outside and reminded staff. 10 minutes into the film, the lights went out. However, when the film ended, staff never turned the lights back on. So it was pitch black (the credits were completely over and the film had turned off). So people were falling over each other trying to exit the theater. When I got out of the theater, I told a staff member waiting at the door that the lights were still off and she shrugged, chuckled, and said "oh yeah." But she never left her spot to actually turn the lights on...

Again, these things aren't huge deals, but as expensive as going out to the movies can be, I want more than comfortable seating. I want a theater that has the professional experience...

I took my son to see Nut Job 2 . They open at 10:45 which was 15 min prior to the showing. Its remodeled but not up to date if that makes any sense. I say that because its still old school all the seats are flat level. The new recliner seats are comfy and the the arm rests lift up. Its not really appealing or accommodating to a toddler. The seats are low so had he been a tad bit shorter id have to sit him on my lap to get a full view. I sat in the center mid way in the theatre and once the movie started the 2 lights in the room stayed on which was annoying. I think the lighting set up could have been better. As for food, i only bought a large icee which was 5 bucks and paid 5 bucks each matinee to get in. The food is more than other theatres , you have to ask for prices because they dont have pricing signs or combos, i was particilarly looking for kids meals like offered at reading cinemas valley plaza. They dont sell pretzels as of now. I was so pissed i live to go to the movies just for those. LOL. Its was an ok experience i may go see an adult movie next weekend but single level seating is really annoying its gonna take some getting use to.
