DIFFERENTREGARD — Local services in Baltimore

I’ve used DifferentRegard twice now. Initially in 2021 for a black tuxedo I was using for my engagement shoot and then again for my wedding tuxedo. My wife and I live in Severn, Md and at the time of our engagement shoot we were looking into different vendors who made bespoke suits. My wife had a sorority sister who had used DifferentRegard and posted her suit on her IG. She suggested them to me, I looked at their page and liked what I saw. I reached out and quickly received my first consultation. Steven and Dominic were great in hearing our vision for the shoot and creating a suit from my idea. The pictures from the shoot turned out great and we still get compliments on them today.

Most recently I reached out to DifferentRegard for my wedding in May 2022. Working mainly with Steven this time, it was through this experience that I saw how truly great he is at his craft. This was a true collaboration from beginning to end. I came in with my initial thoughts. I saw some tuxes online that we thought would work with the theme of the wedding. I was feeling a green tux, vest, and black pants. My wife had chosen to use a color pallet instead of the more traditional one or two color themed weddings. She told Steven of the colors we would be using and from there we decided on green fabric. I liked the fabric but I was unsure and decide with three weeks out from the wedding to switch fabrics and go the more conservative route with a paisley black tux. Steven was more than accommodating of my reluctance to move for with the initial fabric and although that’s typically not protocol we started looking for black fabrics. Unfortunately the black paisley fabric we found would not ship until the Wednesday before the wedding and neither one of us were willing to cut it that close.

Steven suggested that we meet at a local fabric shop to pick out a fabric and this is where the genius showed up. Steven, my wife, and I were initially looking at black fabric. As my wife started to talk about the color scheme, pull out pics, and share her thought about the colors she though would work. Steven lit up and asked me “why are you wearing black?” Lol. Which was a good question. He started to explore, teal, and mauve fabrics. I was honestly overwhelmed at the moment but I knew we were on to something. We were just about to decide between the two, when Steven noticed a teal green fabric with black splashes tucked away behind us. Immediately we all agreed “Yeah that’s…it!”

In two days I had my first fitting and I another two, my tux and vest were ready to go. The work Steven, Dominic and team do at DifferentRegard is unmatched. Consummate professionalism is what you will receive upon arriving at Different Regard's doorstep. I, somewhat spontaneously, stopped by this shop after checking on Google maps what tailors were in my area as my wedding was coming up and I wanted my suit to be made locally. Though I did not have an appointment, I stopped in with my brother on a Saturday afternoon and sat with Dominic for a good hour and a half discussing swatch colours and pricing. Afterwards, I said I would be in touch and they might have expected that to be the last of me, but after receiving such excellent service and being impressed by their pricing, I called back a few days later to set up an appointment to pick my suit.

That next meeting I spent a very relaxed few hours with both Stephen and Dominic deciding precisely what suit I wanted with all of the fixings (pocket shape, stitching colour, button type, etc). We shared a couple of drinks too which made for an even better time.

Six weeks down the road, I received a call that the suit was in and I popped by for the fitting. The suit was perfect! No alterations were needed and I absolutely love it! My wife especially was impressed as I kept it hidden from her until the ceremony began. Furthermore, I was so pleased with the service and product quality that I have already purchased a pair of suspenders and plan to be in again, (they have great hats that are competitively priced).

I was looking for something different to get my husband for our 15th anniversary. For most special occasions, I get him a watch because he collects them but I wanted to get him something different. I had been wanting to check out Different Regard, for a while, but had not had a reason to because I thought it was men's clothing only. So, my daughters and I went in to look for a gift, for my husband, for our anniversary.

Upon entering the store, we were warmly greeted and made to feel so very welcome. I explained that I was looking for a gift for my husband and they explained all of the products that were offered in the store. I did not realize that they had women's clothing too...OH SNAP! All the pretty things but I stayed focus and I bought my husband a beautiful hat that he absolutely loved and that fit him perfectly. We used my daughter for the fitting because my other daughter and I have more substantial sized heads. I also bought him a wool and leather scarf that is simply gorgeous (not pictured) that I can even borrow steal.

My daughters are now plotting to get custom dresses made for a prom in May and mom is planning on getting in there to do some shopping of her own but all I know is that the Arnold family will definitely be seeing the inside of Different Regard quite a bit and I suggest the...
