During our latest trek up to the Charm City, we hit My Thai for lunch. My experience was two-faced at this restaurant - the food and the service.

Let's get done with the bad part first - the service. Apparently, they are trying out a new ordering system here, with the fancy tablet looking order pad that our hostess was carrying. She had a bit of trouble getting our order in and then also bring us a couple of incorrect dishes. Also the service was slooooooooooow - I could feel Thai Basil growing from the base of our chairs! Luckily this was the extent of our bad experience.

The restaurant itself is deceptively large - looks small when you enter but has a whole big section at the back, past the bar. There is a cool looking open patio, but unfortunately it belongs to the restaurant next door. The decor and ambiance is very upscale looking and trendy, and the restrooms are real nice and fancy!

Food here is quite authentic and flavorful. We ordered most of our usual dishes and they did not disappoint! Tom Yum soup with Shrimp, Green curry chicken, drunken noodles with chicken, crispy duck ka prow, all dishes were quite good.

For dessert, we ordered the Mango and Sticky rice which was A-Ok since the mangoes were not sweet as expected.

All in all, a good place for some Thai food...

One of the best meals I've had in a long time!! Had a Groupon (that the owner very kindly extended for me by a couple of days - thanks for that!) and went on Saturday. Had read good reviews but also some not-so-good ones, but I have to say I have rarely enjoyed a meal this much since I move to the US two years ago!! We had two wonderful starters - grilled calamari which had the most delicious seasoning and marinated beef skewers and rice cake, also incredibly scrumptious, followed by two mains - the crispy duck and Pad Woon Sen, a dish I had never heard of before but which was 0h-so-yummy (better than Pad Thai, in my opinion). They have a great drinks list, too, and the meal was made perfect by Ron, our outstanding waiter, who was not only super nice, but also extremely knowledgable - he really knew what he was talking about and what a nice change that makes to a lot of waiters who know nothing about the food they are selling!! We will definitely be back, and I will be lpoking for Ron when we go back. The only minor criticism would maybe be the ambiance - it's not a very cosy place, but that is secondary. If you want absolutely outstanding Thai food (it actually seemed almost fusion to me),...

I am so sad! This place used to be absolutely amazing. [Full five stars]. Great portions, delicious panang curry, and great thai tea!

I totally get everyone is hurting financially right now, but something is changing. The portion sizes haven't changed too much, but something is going on with the curry itself now?

In 2024, we used to get the panang curry and the container was absolutely [deliciously] flooded full with curry and I'd order extra rice because it was the absolute perfect sauce. The last two or three orders we've made, there has been maybe 1/3 of the former total amount of the sauce itself. [Portions of meat, carrots, and broccoli haven't changed much]. If the pricing of the meal doesn't reflect that former amount of sauce, I'd love for there to be a way to just order extra!

Completely unrelated, this is the first time we've gotten their [really excellent] thai tea with some unfiltered grit/leftover spices in it. Not a huge issue, but a new one.

Good pricing, good food, and a nice cozy shop space that we haven't eaten in just yet.

The quality hasn't changed much, but the...

The place is very large unlike most Thai restaurants which is a plus. Very large bar area! They serve lots of Thai beer and other alcoholic drinks but the wine is not their forte and after a big glass of Chardonnay, I had a headache all day (the wine from a box, never again!) The food was ok, chicken satay was tasty and curry was a bit too watery but tasted good. The pineapple fried rice was good. The sizes of portions were decent, not too large. It took a very long time to get the food, over 30 min wait for an appetizer! The server wasn’t friendly to say the least mostly because she was the one of the two people working in there, making drinks and serving food. She didn’t even give us the cutlery, no water or asked if we needed anything, I got up and got clean forks and napkins from the empty table. I don’t think I will be back to this place, no wine selection, food is decent but there are places way better and service was 1 Star.

Absolutely enjoyed my experience at My Thai. Cassiel, our waiter, was amazing. He immediately showed us to our table, waited for us to be seated, presented us with our menus, and brought us water. He also helped us out with the menu as we are vegetarians and we're confused about the items. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the chive dumplings with sweetened soy sauce. The soy sauce was so good that we even requested for an extra helping for the entrees. The drunken noodles was another beautiful dish. We asked for really spicy food. The food wasn't as spicy as we hoped but was certainly flavorful. Loved the ambiance. We went during an odd time so the place was also quiet. The only reason for the 4-star rating was the check. Even though we were prepared to give a generous tip, the check already had gratuity included in the bill. An automatic gratuity shouldn't be added if there's only a party of two.

Ordered takeout from here earlier this week. I got pad Thai and panang curry. Each item was about $16. Pad Thai I was pleasantly surprised with. Seemed like a good portion (albeit it should be a healthy portion for the price as it is mainly noodles) would recommend ! Had nice flavors of ginger and tamarind and the tofu and egg were sized appropriately. The panang was again a fairly good portion but I felt it was not quite spicy enough and slightly watery. While I understand panang is less spicy than a red curry it should still have some spice and be thick. Would recommend adding the option to choose your spice level! Overall the place is good ! Just need to work out a few kinks being so new
