So, my little sister was harrassed today by the security guards. We picked up some fast food from outside the market then sat inside. My sister sat down at a table and waited for me while I was ordering from Connie’s. While she was waiting a security guard went up to her and said she can’t eat outside food - even though she was just sitting there using her phone and never took anything out the bag. My sister politely said okay. Continued to use her phone, unbothered, not touching her bag of food. Then the security guard told 2 other security guards to keep an eye on her. And they all just stood there, within a few feet, staring and pointing at her. At this point I went back to the table to leave my drink that was ready before my food. So they noticed that she was waiting for me while I was getting my food. I walked away again, at this point his security guard buddy went up to her and said the same thing - no outside food allowed. She said okay, even though she never touched her food. So after my food was ready, we proceeded to leave the establishment because we were being stared down by the guards and felt uneasy. We sat in the outdoor eating area and I ate my food - whereas my sister continued to follow the rules and didn’t touch hers. Then each security guard took turns coming outside to check on what we were doing. They were breathing down our necks. We just left after that because it basically became stalking at that point. I’m NEVER going back. Was it racial profiling? I don’t know. But it was a...
Read moreI usually love coming to Broadway Market for a bite or two. However, today a friend and I decided to stop inside for a small bite and quick drink after checking out Bmore Flea. After we finished our food, we continued to sit at our table for another hour or so to catch up. Then one of the workers from Sal and Son came up to us and asked us to leave because we weren’t spending anymore money on food and decided to tell us how his establishment “spends over $10k” to rent the building and that because we aren’t buying more food then we’re not welcome. We both pointed out the fact that other tables were empty and there was no crowd, but he stood over us until we left. I’ve never dealt with this before and I didn’t appreciate it. Definitely check out other food courts in Baltimore if you want to feel...
Read moreLocated in popular Fells Point, Broadway Market is a little food hall on the site of a historic market. During an overnight trip at the nearby Canopy Harbor Point, my family of three walked here for dinner on a Saturday evening.
There aren't lots of food stands inside, but enough to find something you like. They have chicken and waffles, Thai, ice cream, seafood, a bar, etc. We opted for Thai and the vendor was out of this world. Our green curry, papaya salad and pad thai were well flavored and tasty!
There are public restrooms in the back and tables outside and throughout the inside of the space. Our four-year-old daughter especially loved the kid-sized...
