For years I have gone to this theater back when it started as the Bay City 6. I just today am changing my score of 5 stars to one. Since the pandemic and new owners bought it up there have been issues to say the least everytime we have come here. I was willing to give them the benefits of the doubt and allow this new transition time happen. Well two years have passed and my wife and I go to see a movie almost every week and have really slowed down going to our local theater and going to other theaters in other cities instead. We will probably never go back their again now because of how things have gotten. Their staff will be different all the time because other then a few diehards they seem to have a revolving door of staff which leads to longer lines and staff getting over worked to a point that is just aggravating to see. The movie will start with only sound or only picture this happened a lot probably at least once a month to us. The theater it self will be hotter then the temperature outside, and to help they have a house fan blaring in the corner sometimes being louder then the dialogue of the movie. I know that the air condition has been like this for over at least three weeks in a couple of their theaters from first hand experience. When I was younger their was two places that you could go to escape the heat and that was the theater or the pool over at the community center. Now none of these options are available for the kids in our town. This review is hard for me to make as again in my life a chapter is coming to a close. It didn't have to though. Also I think that it is wrong that this business still retains all the old positive reviews from when it was a Goodrich Theater. That is almost a...
Read moreMy husband and I are both retired due to health issues. We started going to the movie theater about 2 years ago for something to do, and occasionally we take our younger nieces and nephews as a birthday outing, and at times we take our son who is a rather large young man. I myself am in a wheelchair so getting into places can be a bit of a tight fit; especially in the Movie Theater seats. My main issue is with the handicap seating spaces, which are very limited and are in some the most uncomfortable areas for 2 people who like to cuddle or hold hand, there's a safty railing between us. There are no handicap seating areas down closer to the screen, some of us are blind and would like to sit closer to the screen. The bathroom is just a source of total chaos for me being in a wheelchair. Whoever designed the entrance and stalls should have enlisted the help of someone whos in a wheelchair. I can hardly make the turn into the labyrinth style entrance, and getting into the only handicap stall I can get into with my wheelchair is just as tight a fit as getting through the entrance. I do require help about half of the time I need to use the bathroom and have no way of being able to get my caregiver into the bathroom if I'm requiring help to get cleaned up because my husband is my regular full time caregive, very rarely do I have a female caregiver with me. I'm sure I'm not the only handicap person that those issues affect. . Between prices being to high and the bathroom issues, I don't know how much longer we will be able to attend the movies there. For 3 adults, 2 of whom are considered senior citizens we still spent $100 on 3 tickets, 3 drinks and 2 popcorns....
Read moreI've been to this theater multiple times there was one other time the air in the number 6 gdx wasn't working so it was humid. We did ask during the movie that time about the air, and we were told that they were working on it. Fast forward to today when we went in. It was about 92 degrees out so we thought going to see a movie would be nice, in air conditioning. When we got into the number 6 theater, instantly you could tell it was very humid. We didn't say anything because sometimes, it will start when the movie starts. It in fact did not. It remained humid the entire time. On our way out, we approached a young lady behind the desk area and asked if she knew the air wasn't working in number 6. She barely made eye contact and said "No" and went back to her screen. No "I'm sorry, we'll look into it" or even a "We are working on it". She wasn't pleasant at all. So we just walked away. Normally I don't complain, but in this instance, I am. We weren't rude and just wanted her aware for future movies. The amount of money you pay nowadays for everything at the movies, great customer service is free. Hopefully they get the issue fixed, but I don't think...
