Like most people I don’t generally leave a review unless there’s an exceptionally bad experience to share. For once that is not the case. This morning was not particularly great for me, won’t go into detail but it was definitely one of those days. Grabbed coffee this morning from Tim Hortons and it was horrid so when I ran out for my lunch break early afternoon I decided to pivot and do Starbucks. Definitely the right choice. At this point I was just looking to have my day just not get any worse. Just wanted a coffee to get me through to the other side. But little did I know the day would take an awesomely positive turn. Hopped in drive thru, ordered and struck up a brief conversation with a very nice young lady over the speaker, Emily, while I waited to move up. When I tell you I didn’t realize I needed more than coffee to perk me back up. This woman was on her game. I guess you don’t really think about how much you’re missing casual polite conversation until someone hits you with a genuine exchange. Needless to say I cracked a smile following our banter and my day finally took a turn. If this girl sticks around to put some positivity in my cup I will absolutely keep coming back for refills. In this digital age it feels like there simply isn’t anything genuine when it comes to interactions with customer service workers. And I get it, it’s they’re work and they get tired and frustrated too. But man when I say this girl smacked me in the face with good vibes and a smile....
Read moreI’ve been trying to get in contact with a manager at this location. The phone number only gives the corporate office location and doesn’t allow any option to speak to anyone. I prefer to keep negative comments to management so they will have an option to work with their team to better the customer experience but that isn’t possible with your phone number being a dead end.
Complaint: I order from here often, I have a severe gluten allergy and celiac disease. If my order instructions are followed, I don’t get sick. The cinnamon/pumpkin spice powder you use on the fall drinks contains wheat. I always order without that topping. I only get the correct order about 30% of the time which makes me sick if I try it before checking it. Also this cuts into your store revenue by needing to remake the order. It cuts into the time it takes the next customer to receive their order as it needs to be remade. I’m sick again today due to staff not reading the drink sticker. I’m very frustrated as I’ve let staff know repeatedly about not adding the powder topping and it keeps going ignored. Your location is making people sick due to not paying attention and it’s not okay. I used to love this location as the staff used to pay attention but that has changed and it signals a lack of proper leadership. You’re lucky it’s not a nut allergy as that could literally kill people. Your store does cause me reproductive, digestive, and a number of other allergic reactions with that...
Read moreIf you’re in a hurry, do not visit this Starbucks location. It was once a favorite place of mine, but recently this location has simply fallen flat.
Service is extremely hit-or-miss. Current baristas are friendly for the most part, though sometimes come off as rude when a customer is unaware of their pandemic system. Furthermore, there have been multiple occasions in which employees are having conversations over headsets as customers wait for a coffee. Typically, would not have a problem with this as a positive work environment is great. Although, speed of the service is atrocious at this location - these conversations may contribute.
There has been many times where I wait 5 or so minutes just for an employee to notice me standing there waiting to place my order. Furthermore, I have waited 20-30 minutes for ONE coffee on countless occasions. One example of this slow service is mobile order. You would think that method is fast, though this is not always the case. On the app, it tells me 7-9 minute prep time usually. On one visit, I placed the order ahead, then waited 15 minutes in store for my “more efficient” mobile order. Horrendous wait times at this location is the main drawback as displayed in many reviews. Unfortunately their only saving grace is the Starbucks brand. I recommend visiting another area location or supporting a small cafe if time is a priority when...
