I stopped by the Bastrop Visitor Center to ask directions to a restaurant and ended up talking with the ladies at the front desk for 20 minutes. The ladies noticed the Navy wings on my cap and gave me free admission as a veteran. I'm a fan of old saddles and the saddle in the photo was made in Bastrop in 1912. For a former military officer like myself, the Museum's military exhibits were fascinating. If you're visiting Austin, I hope you'll take the time to visit the Bastrop Visitor Center and Museum. It's well worth it!

Such a cute visitor center! The museum Bastop has was top notch for being inside a visitor center. State of the art and amazing quality! The staff was also super-duper friendly, sweet and helpful. They were amazing representatives of the cute town of Bastrop! Make it a point to stop here on your way in or through!!
