Absolutely the worst service I'd ever received. I'd been a server for over 20 years and I've seen it all and experienced it all. This was a Saturday night and the restaurant was incredibly quiet.......maybe 7 tables at 6:20 pm so I can't excuse the poor service for being too busy. Our waitress never greeted us but simply walked up to the table asking if we were ready to order. As one person was in the restroom, we explained that it would be a moment but we would start off with the artichoke appetizer. She ran off before offering us beverages. When she returned 5 minutes later with appetizer plates, we asked if we could have drinks. The gentlemen ordered beers and unfortunately the restaurant was out of 4 or 5 of the house beers. Two ladies had ice water and I had tea, for which I had to ask for a straw or spoon twice. I gave up and used a fork to stir my tea. (Not the end of the world, but slightly annoying.) We each ordered an entree that came with soup or salad. We ladies ordered salad, while the gentlemen ordered the soup of the day. We received our salads and at least 5 minutes passed before the waitress returned and plopped down 2 bowls of cream of mushroom soup and walked off. This was not the soup of the day the waitress specified and not what they'd ordered. I flagged down another waitress and later the hostess, asking both to send our waitress over so we could replace the soup. Our waitress did not return. After the 4 of us had finished out salads and the one had finished his soup, I was finally able to track down our server, when she went to another table nearby. When we questioned the waitress about the soup, she shrugged and said that the cook had changed the soup. When we explained that my husband couldn't eat the soup, she said nothing and just stared at him. He finally asked if he could have a salad, which she begrudgingly brought. The salads were fresh and tasty. The one gentleman who kept his soup said it was quite good. The two gentlemen ordered the shrimp and grits which was amazing. They both raved about how good it was. One lady ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the salmon. Both were good although my salmon was overcooked. What was disappointing was that her entree came with potatoes and asparagus and mine with rice and asparagus. We both asked for extra veggies instead of the rice or potatoes. What we each received were 4 small spears of asparagus. (Again, not the end of the world, but annoying.) The waitress disappeared again and never returned to check if our meals were ok or to refill tea or water. The gentlemen were never asked if they wanted another beer. (Again, there are only 7 tables being used and at least two waitresses, so I have no idea why we were treated so poorly. She finally returned and did not offer dessert or coffee, but simply asked if we were ready to leave. The waitress clearly was not trained properly, but beyond that, she simply didn’t care, and made it abundantly obvious that we were an annoyance to her. When we left at about 8pm, there were only about 5 tables remaining in the restaurant. There was a nice band playing, but there was no one outside listening to them. (Also worth noting: Both gentlemen complained that the unisex bathrooms were disgusting and in need of attention. We women decided we wouldn’t even venture that way. This should have been the red flag we needed to leave and gone elsewhere for dinner.) All in all, the food was good, but the fact that this brewery/restaurant was out of 4 or 5 house beers, would substitute soups without informing anyone, and coupled with the total lack of courtesy and indifference shown us by the waitress our...
Read moreWe were excited to finally try out 602 Brewing. I was celebrating an award and we were looking forward to eating here. We tried to reserve a table but they let us know that they were not busy and to just come in. Got to a half filled restaurant at 630. Atmosphere was pleasant. Seemed to have a good vibe going, a customer brought his dog to the bar.
However, we were seated and it took 10 mins to get fountain drinks. We ordered 3 appetizers and waited 60 mins while the waitress and owner passed us up multiple times without communication of our very late appetizers or asking if we needed anything else. They did go out of their way for other local guests with service and food though. Every table was fed but us. I even saw the owner/manager ask if others needed refills. I had to flag down the waitress only for her to tell us that “she was just paged” that our order was ready.
When she arrived she updated us that they also didn’t have crab cakes that we ordered. I asked her not to worry about it so we could just eat and leave. The mussels were dried out from being under a heat lamp and as I cut into the pretzel there was a long hair underneath it. We were shocked. We let the waitress know and asked to just get our check to leave. When she returned she said there was no charge. I asked if she needed us to sign anything or talk to the manager and she said “No”. So we just left. We were not apologized to for wasting over an hour of our time. No leadership was shown on the floor. Customers around us that had received their food before us, even though they had ordered after us, were also in shock that we were dealing with this. There was no management experience with this situation and rather than talk to us we were ignored.
Do not come here if you are looking to get your food under an hour. I haven’t been this embarrassed for a restaurant in a very long time. 0 situational awareness in this crew and it was clearly obvious that they only cater towards known locals. As a family that lives here we do not plan on ever coming back to this...
Read moreI'm absolutely taken back by how disappointing everything that I had here tonight was. This was my first experience dining here and will hopefully be my last.
I ordered a coke to drink, a couple sips in had me asking the waitress for an unsweet tea instead. The mix ratio was all kinds of off on the coke and they somehow succeeded in making it taste like cough syrup.
The crawfish chowder that they served was incredibly fishy and thin.
The crabcakes they served me were mostly filler, at least from what I ate of them. I stopped about a 3rd of the way through my first crabcake as it was luke warm around the outer edge and cool in the middle.
This chicken fried steak was an abomination. it was the toughest chewiest piece of beef I had ever seen outside of Jerky, The crust was unable to hold up to the rigor needed to cut through the boot leather inside. if you did manage to get a piece of crust to stay stuck to the meat oh boy get ready. The crust gave an instant burst of greasiness that tasted akin to fast food fries that have never had their grease changed. that grease flavor that coats your mouth and makes everything taste off and awful. The gravy was just bland, sometimes an excellent gravy can make up for other aspects of the meal, but no dice. The hatch green chiles do nothing for a gravy this far gone.
The mashed potatoes were one step above instant flakes and only in texture alone, the cheddar mashed potatoes are as basic as you can get on a flavor profile. "Scratch potatoes"? they should scratch this item off the menu, Chef Mic(rowave) putting in work melting all 4 strands of cheese on top of this potatoe burial mound. save yourself the time and travel and make a pouch of idaho 4 cheese instant spuds instead.
I almost gave this place two stars, but there was no redeeming qualities about the food that would ever make me wonder if the other dishes had anything to offer. Stay away lest ye be hankering for a heap of...
