2 Day Glamping Trip in Bastrop

We came here for the first time and it is such a cool experience. Very delicious! Our server Allie was very kind and helpful and went above and beyond to give our family of 3 a great experience! she even had the bar make me a mocktail spritzer with ginger/pomegranate sparkling it was delicious. My husband is a steak guy and for him the ribeye was very tasty. We started with the crab Mac & Cheese and our 6-year-old loved it. I enjoyed a feast: strawberry and spinach salad, filet mignon with mashed potatoes and the “haricot verts” which we found out is a fancy word for French green beans. They were all very delicious! We shared onion rings with ranch and Brussel sprouts. Daughter had a grilled cheese and Fries, they even had a nice kids menu with activities. It was a cozy and relaxing experience. The low candle lighting and historic yet artistic atmosphere made it feel fun and adventurous. Try the prickly pear lemonade when you go! Next time we’ll save room for dessert. There was a private party going on in the event space and that felt exciting also. Well done Piney Creek! Thank you to Allie and everyone on the team and behind-the-scenes in the kitchen and bar.

Hate to share this but being this is one of the only “higher end” places to dine in Bastrop. I have no interest in returning or referring anyone to eat here for a special occasion. We went for a Birthday dinner in their private room, our waitress was good, unfortunately the food was terrible and crazy priced high for the quality. 3 steaks were sent back for being over cooked. When they returned they were completely undercooked. Brussels sprouts were burned, and the salmon I ordered really had no taste just sauce poured over. The menu said salmon came with jumbo shrimp and lump crab. There was zero crab and 1 shrimp. $40 for filet and $32 for salmon totally not worth it and higher end Austin prices. The waitress was very apologetic and had the manager deliver new steaks with her- by the way he had a large tatttoo on his face( I guess that’s just todays world). He stated all the steaks were to be comped. Free desert for birthday girl. When the girls with the steak recieved their bill the steak was still on there which really the waitress should have checked.Sadly I have given this place several chances and this is the last unless it’s happy hour drinks.

Nice decor, but AWFUL service for what I would call a pricy dinner. We ordered a drinkand got it fairly quickly. 10 minutes later, the waiter came back and we ordered an appetizer... Another 20 minutes and we had our luke warm bacon wrapped scallops swimming in butter. After waiting another 25 minutes to find our waiter (we had to ask someone!), he finally came and took our main order. I ordered the filet mignon and my husband had the lamb chops. We should have ordered another drink at this point, but we were already getting a little ticked off and plain forgot. Another 20 minutes and a different waiter asked if we wanted more water. Sitting there with empty drink glasses, I said "No, we would like another drink though" he said "oh, I'll tell your waiter". Another 15 minutes and I hear the second waiter say to the first waiter "did you get those Bud Lights? Another 10 minutes goes by and our first waiter brings us our drinks and says your food will be out shortly. 20 minutes later, our food arrived. No seasoning that I could tell and my filet was cooked rare, when I had ordered medium and my husband's lamb chopswere really rare, bordering on raw next to the bone. We should have sent both plates back, but after almost 2 hours, we were starving and ate what we could. We paid our almost $150.00 check and left. Did I mention this was our 33rd wedding anniversary? NOT FUN AND NOT ROMANTIC!!! Overall, this restaurant did not live up to their prices and their hype. *Side note and observation... we both used the restroom as we were leaving and noticed that they share a restroom with the wings and burger joint next door. Made me wonder if they shared a kitchen and chef too!!! Just a thought. We...

Came here on a whim, wasn't disappointed like I normally am with most restaurants. We rarely eat out these days so we try to make it special when we do. Wife and I ordered bacon-wrapped filets both made the same (medium-rare.) Unfortunately my wife's came out looking more medium-well than medium-rare but mine was absolutely perfect. They made it right and made her another steak to perfection like mine within a short period. I do question whether the "butter" is real butter as it had an oily taste (we don't eat fake butter) even though our waiter said it was real. I also ordered brussel sprouts but they were a bit dry and burnt for my taste.

Besides the steak being tender and delicious, the waitstaff was pleasant and professional (despite being young - very impressive) and really, my only major complaint would be to have more "local" wines. Considering they have a theme of "eat local" there were no local wines (Messina Hof, Haak, Fall Creek, etc.) Texas actually has some good wines if you've done any looking and don't turn your nose up just because it's from Texas.

We had our young son with us and while he's well behaved, I did notice he was probably the only one there - so if you're thinking of bringing your child here and they're loud and obnoxious, expect evil stares - at least until the other patrons get a few drinks in them enough to be louder. Note: they DO have a children's menu so it's not odd. Atmosphere is a little dark, but very pleasant - certainly a nice place to take a date (though it has a bit...

This will be somewhat long so stay with me.

I first made my reservation a week before the intended date. I called the day of my reservation 2/16/25 to confirm and was told I couldn't be found on the reservation list. I reaffirmed I called a week ago to make the reservation and they said they could work my party of two in when I come in at 6.

We get there around 550 and the place is pretty empty, we are sat at one of the tables next to the bar at the front of the building where another couple is sitting and being served. It took about 15-20 minutes before the bartender approached asking if we had been served. We told her no and she mentioned something about the other waitress (serving the couple next to us) missed us. This is even after the same waitress walked by a couple of times.

The other couples were tended to by the other staff and the bartender ended up making drinks and serving us. I don't want to take away from her (the bartender) because she was very attentive after she saw we hadn't been served. But we couldn't help but feel we were ignored and treated differently.

This isn't our first time here, but this time it was more obvious based on their actions.

The food was good as it had been previously. the mood was set for Valentine's day, but the horrible service and the atmosphere it created made everything...
