I just came out of this place to pick up my order when i was talking to the store manager named Kyle and pointed out that they made a mistake on the order that i wanted to order the def tech SC6000 and not the SC4000. I wanted to cancel the SC4000 and get the SC6000 for the same price that i originally deal with Sean. He then went on the rant that no way we can give you that low of a price. I said what you mean, it was the same price Sean and I agreed on. He said he can't do it. I was like between $15 more meant nothing to me but i didn't like the tone or the way he talk to customer. so i corrected that. Then he tried to force me to order the Denon top of line receiver so that i can then give me the same deal as the def tech SC6000. I told him that i want to hold it off for now until June but he kept on nagging that i should order it. Then he went on to say that "oh, you're the guy that played us with other video only store for better price"....and that just pissed me off. So i cancelled the entire order and get my money back. After that i confronted the guy named Tom that i worked with a while back for the TV because i felt like the reason for the comments was from him. I didn't buy it from him because i didn't feel he treated me well enough. While me and my sister was looking at the tv, he was showing off his boat and bunch of pictures of girls and their butts. It made my sister and i felt uncomfortable....so I left. I ended up paying a little more on the TV from another video only store with better and more professional salesman.
Anyhow...of all the time, Tom was holding grudges rather than figure out how to be a better salesman to serve customers. As for his manager Kyle, he needs to be a role model for his colleague. I was expecting more of a customer friendly remarks as in: "i'm sorry we've got your order mix up. As an inconvenience to you, we're going to do it for the same price".....man that would get me head over heal and give him my credit cards to buy whatever he thinks i need. Instead, i'm getting, "no way, we can't sell you at that price. In fact, this is not our mistake....you bought this one....all we can do is refund you....no we should not even discounts it for you." I mean, heck....the reason i go to video only because i know you guys give some additional discounts. If not, i can buy online (ebay, amazon, etc) or at Best Buy.
There are some other good salesmen at the Beaverton store and i will sorely missed. But as long as Tom and his buddy Kyle still around the Beaverton store, i will not buy anything from there. I better off buying it elsewhere (at other Video Only location and not at the Beaverton one) and this is coming off of a long and loyal Video...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI first went into video only looking for a new T.V and was helped by a sales associate named Bill. He was for the most part informative, helpful and friendly. He sold me a plasma that I wasn't entirely sure I was going to want and may exchange for a different model. I went in a couple of days later, played around with the other TV I was looking at and decided to exchange my set for that one, paid the 300 dollar difference. I hadn't received my TV yet so it was no issue. That's when the problems began. The TV I ordered wasn't in stock so I went ahead and waited a week...Still nothing. A total of 4 weeks went by (3 after I ordered it, a week after my first trip to the store when the set wasn't in stock) and on two or three different occasions I was given different responses as to what the hold up was. One guy even told me the set didn't release to mid-May which I know isn't true because it came out in February.
After waiting 3 weeks for a T.V I spent to me a decent amount of money on and not having it, I went into the store to cancel my order and get a refund. One sales associate, not Bill as he transferred to Jantzen Beach, certainly changed his attitude quickly when I wanted to cancel my entire order. Then a young guy helped me and it took him 3 times to process my return. First time he put it all back on my Video Only credit card when it was part cash, my mistake I should have informed him. Second time when he knew some needed to be put back on my debit card he put it all on the credit card again. Third time is a charm. I informed him I was still somewhat torn between the two sets (the original I purchased and the one I exchanged it for) and then he proceeded to talk to me ear off putting down the more expensive (and higher rated) set, talking about how amazing this other one was and that people complaining about it are a "bunch of nerds sitting in their basements writing reviews" looking for flaws. After dropping hints I'd come back later and was not looking to stick around he still kept at it, talking negative about the one set in hopes I'd get the other, likely to ensure a sale that day. He was also uninformative stating that most LEDs today will outperform even the top of the line plasmas and plasmas can't touch the brightness of LEDs. Well, last I checked black level performance was where the true detail was and plasmas still are the best until OLED comes out. But what do I know? I'm just someone who was almost duped into buying...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk, this might be a long post but, to really do the review justice, I feel its necessary. Within the last 6 months i bought an 86" LG 4K TV, I started noticing heavy backlight bleed on the screen (which is a common issue with backlit TV's so I'm told) with this being the case, I started researching OLED and Samsung QLED. To help me make this decision, I went to best buy, and I felt like the rep either didn't know the answer to my questions or didn't know enough about the technology to answer my questions. Either way, I left there and headed to Video Only.
I was greeted immediately by Tom, after explaining to him my situation, he asked my price range and what I mostly use the TV for. He offered pros and cons of each model I was looking at as well as offered side by side comparisons of the different models. After discussing the decision with my lady we returned to Video Only the following Saturday. Again, we were greeted by Tom who was happy to answer our additional questions. We decided to purchase an 85" Samsung QN85QN90B, he not only matched but beat Best Buys price by $1300.00 and even added a 5 year warranty at no extra cost, they gave me an additional $500 off the price for a trade in of a Damaged television I had in my garage.
To say I was pleased and impressed with my experience with Tom and at Video Only would be an understatement! This was the most pleasant experience I've had making any large purchase. I will recommend Video Only and Tom to all of my friends, family, and most likely anyone I brag about my new TV to. I will absolutely be returning for a surround sound set up and will definitely be requesting to work with...
