Extremely disappointing experience at Lux Studio (Bellevue location).
I had booked an appointment a day in advance and clearly stating I was a female customer looking to get a short haircut. The customer service confirmed that any of their stylists could handle it, so I went in with confidence.
But when I arrived, the stylist didnât ask anythingâjust had me wash my hair immediately. After washing, I showed him 4-5 different photos of normal short hairstyles, and he said he couldnât cut any of them, citing my âcoarse, frizzy hair textureâ and claiming âit will explode,â âthereâs no layers,â âthis style doesnât suit you,â etc.
If he couldnât do it, why didnât he tell me BEFORE the hair wash? It was a complete waste of my time and money.
I told the front desk that the stylist clearly wasnât capable of cutting short hair for women, and they brought over another stylist to assess. Guess what? That person also said they wouldnât recommend short hair for me, again using vague excuses like âyour hair wonât workâ or ânot suitable.â
Iâve been getting short haircuts for years, and never has any professional stylist said I wasnât âsuitableâ or that they simply couldnât do it. This was the first time ever someone refused to cut my hair after I already washed it.
If your stylists donât know how to handle womenâs short hair, please stop accepting appointments for it. Donât advertise what you canât deliver. Itâs not just unprofessionalâitâs misleading.
Would never return, and I do not recommend this place to anyone looking for a short haircut,...
Read moreI was excited to try Chinese style lash extensions⊠This was unfortunately my worst eyelash experience. I repeatedly requested a very natural look, showed a reference photo, and specified that I didnât want a full set covering my eyelid. I wanted lashes just slightly longer than my natural ones, similar to wearing mascara.
There were eyelash references that the store has but I was not informed of it. If I had known, I would have used that reference instead.
The lash technician asked about my preferred lash length. I reiterated that I wanted them just a bit longer than my natural lashes. She suggested 13mm, and I agreed, assuming it would be slightly longer. However, 13mm was far too long, my lashes touched my eyebrow hair!
Possibly due to a language barrier, she did the opposite of what I requested. Additionally, she applied lashes to one eye at a time instead of alternating, resulting in more lashes on my right eye with a slight slant. So my left eye and right eye looked different from each other.
I was poked multiple times in my right eye. And thereâs a slight tug on both eyes, Iâm assuming that the lashes werenât applied properly.
There was a language barrier as the lash tech couldnât speak English and perhaps that why there was such a big difference between what I had got. Iâm sad that it didnât work out as I was excited to try these newer styles. I wonât be returning. I think if youâre a client and canât speak the language, it might not be worth your time coming in.

Read moreJust had the most amazing nail and lash experience with MONICAđ€©! I did some research on rednote and knew I wanted the popular style in Asia(which not everyone can do), not the traditional style and communicated with Monica, she immediately knew what I was talking abt and really listened to what I wanted with just a picture showingâcat eye based ice-cube for my nails and Thai style lashesâand she nailed it (pun totally intended). And she even gave me a waxing hand SPA for FREE!!! My hands feel super soft too, no more drying cuticles anymore, the result was instant. The salon was clean and cozy with nice music playing and had parking right in the front, I felt asleep 3 times while I was getting my Hand Spa and lashes extended. Will definitely be coming back for my next total package! đ ...
