Lakewood Plaza — Attraction in Bellflower

I used to shop here. Stater bros and Staples were my favorite places to go, but they closed shop because (a ccording to the employees I spoke with), the land owner raised the rent to an unaffordable amount that they no longer afford. As a result, both large square footage buildings have remained vacant for years. It seems that it would have been more profitable to keep the rent reasonable so that these two businesses could have stayed open. At least the land owner would be getting some income from the properties. I doubt that any business we frequent will lease those buildings. It's like a ghost town. I go to the Planet Fitness in this shopping center and my car was broken into, window smashed and items stolen. I've learned that car break ins are common in this parking lot, at least 20 in the past month. It appears the shopping center has done nothing to prevent further break ins. I go to the planet fitness in this plaza. While j do drive past 3 closer locations I always find my way back to that one because the staff always make we feel welcome.
