BEST BLONDE IN BELLINGHAM!! I came in here on the recommendation of a good friend (with gorgeous long blonde hair) after years of merry-go-round stylists, bleached out warm hair and an underdone choppy bob. None of which were a good look on me :( I first waited for Toby to get me in her busy schd (this is who my friend sees) and was pleased to get the most meticulous hair cut I've had in years. Her skill at cut and color is truly impeccable. The color, however, turned much darker than I had expected although it was true to the ash tone I desired. Toby was such a pro and didn't bat an eyelash. She was happy to get me in at her earliest convenience, which was awhile, or have another stylist who specialized in "dimensional blonde" fix me up sooner. I opted for the sooner and am ELATED!! Enter the amazing, the one, the only KRISTIN STEWART, I have been blond all of my adult life and I have never had my hair done so well. She does a combo foil at the root/ balayage towards the ends that came out natural but striking with the brightest pops framing my face. Ah-ma-zing!! The color is cool and pearly with lots of depth. I think she is a relatively undiscovered and it's only bc I book my appts out months in advance anyway that I'll share at the risk that she'll get all booked up. Already referring my local friends too her too. Also, there is no better blond than Aveda blonde. It has the best hue and least damage and I've already been all over town. Go, book...

They don’t allow a cut and color in the same appointment…

Very disappointed in my experience!

I had a 4:15 appointment and was asked to come in later at 4:45 due to a software scheduling error on their part. I arrived at 4:45 and was still waiting at 5:10, when another person came in and was asked to come back an hour later due to the same problem. Given there were no other stylists or people around the salon, it occurred to me that there was no way they’d have my haircut and balayage done within an hour, so I checked back in with the receptionist to re-confirm my appt details and she explained they don’t allow a cut and color to happen in the same appointment!

At that point I was too frustrated to continue waiting well beyond my appointment to have half of my services done, so I left.

Prior to my appointment, I had asked specifically for an appointment with both and they never told me this was not possible. They mentioned there was a consultation added into my appointment, but since they didn’t tell me that I couldn’t have both appointments at once, I figured this was simply an additional 15 minutes to give the stylist and myself time to chat.

And while it’s not their problem, this was exceptionally frustrating because I’d arranged for paid childcare in order make time for self care.

It’s worth mentioning that the receptionist was very apologetic and friendly, but that doesn’t excuse the salon for a terrible...

I have never written a review ever, but my experience at Sandalwood left me needing to tell everyone about it! During quarantine I destroyed my hair with bleach and box color and cuts and after two years of feeling super insecure about my damaged discolored hair, I wanted to start the journey to blonde. I have a consultation with Jordan where we talked about my goals and budget and hair history and made a plan that sounded great. At my appointment we discovered after some lightening my hair was unable to go lighter in that session. Jordan’s detailed care toward my hair’s integrity and my goal was unmatched. Throughout the whole appointment she was attentive and super kind. Since the appointment ran much longer than anticipated (considering my hair health brought some obstacles) she made great adjustments for me and went above and beyond with her work. After putting complete trust in her, I left extremely happy with my hair and an absolutely reasonable amount out of my bank account. Jordan was the most understanding, down-to-earth, talented, and amazing stylist I have ever had. Jordan and Sandalwood are definitely a stylist/salon...
