Even from this side of the park you can see the surfers, and a view of the rapids, but what makes this side stand out is the canopy tall birds nest, and new river features(plus the sidewalk goes to a bridge that gives access to the water park)... The recent river access updates in this park are stellar! They added six or eight rocks in the depths of the river, expanded the access points with incredible handicapped access ramps that appear as sidewalks going right into the river, and even a ramp for kayaks or boats to be pulled in and out on. They even yanked that tree that was stuck on the rock. The bathrooms are usually clean, and well kept. The view of the Ospreys is incredible, as you'll hear the young ones chattering before they get your attention. The parking is decent, and there's a sidewalk that goes over to the whitewater park, where you can see the surfers...

I'm one of the lucky folk who "has" to spend multiple days a week at the park to tend my plot at the community garden. 🌱🍅🌿What a bummer. 😂 After toiling in the soil, I'll often make a day of it at the park meeting up with family and friends on the big lawn, settling in a blanket in the full sun or shade of a tree. We always pack snacks, water, a book, perhaps a game of backgammon or tile rummy and just relish the relaxation of lounging riverside. There's easy access for a quick dunk or even a mellow no-tube body-float down to Drake. The river trail runs right through the park, so easy access to/from destinations in the Old Mill or Galveston. It's a sweet spot...

The park itself is gorgeous. The people... IDK. What are the correct words that describe the citizens walking by someone who just got off work cleaning vacation rentals, backpack loaded with cleaning supplies, sitting on a bench waiting for their ride to show, and instead of smiling or idle pleasantries, they snear , avoid eye contact, or make comments to members of their party that assume the person with the backpack is a "bum"? I mean, a few select words come to mind, but none I can type out here. Sorry, I'll wear my sunday best to scrub toilets in next time. Meanwhile, why don't you go f#

Miller's Landing was super busy when we went by. Quite alot of people enjoying the river and the grassy areas. We walked the trail up and over the bridge and down the other side of the park. They were hosting a river surfing competition on the rapids along with some vendors and food trucks on that side of the park. There was a live band performing in the park along side the food truck and the vendors. It was nice to be able to listen to the music while walking the river trail. The park is well maintained and well loved as quite alot of people were in the park when we visited. Beautiful park and a nice trail.

Miller's Landing Park is a great little hidden park in Bend, OR that run along Deschutes River. You can enjoy a nice walk, ride bikes, or take your pets for a run along the trail. There is a large grassy area for kids to play, there are multiple tables to enjoy a picnic, and there are public restrooms which are very well maintained! You can also check out the community garden while you are here. This park is also located relatively close The Old Mill shopping district and Les Schwab Ampitheater. A wonderful place to spend time outdoors!
