This was in fact the WORST hotel stay I have ever had. As I walked into the Red Roof Inn-Philadelphia-Trevose, , I was overcome with the smell of marijuana. Then I was told that the room I had paid for was not available. I paid for a deluxe king room, accessible with roll in shower. The man at the front desk did give me a Standard King size accessible room, So I said ok, I will take it.
Once I got my key, I went to my room to find that the toilet was clogged! I called the ft desk and told the clerk that the toilet was clogged, there were no towels in the room and that the remote didn't work. He proceeded to tell me he would call maintenance and have them fix the problem right away.
it is now 2 hours later. No maintenance, no towels, no working remote. I called the desk again and was told that the ft desk clerk would come around with batteries. 20 mins later the ft desk person, who had blood shot eyes and blurred speech appeared to tell me that the laundry room was closed and wouldn't be open until morning and that maintenance would not be in until 8am the next day! To add insult to injury, he hands me 2 different kinds of batteries, neither of which worked. If I wanted to change a channel, I had to change it manually!!
Mind you. All night long, I had to deal with a clogged toilet!
This was a room for a person with disability. WHAT type of foolishness is this! When I called the ft desk again and asked to be moved to a new room, I was told that there were no rooms available to be moved to!
As a result of all the inconvenience, I was told by this ft desk clerk that I would get a full refund for my stay, regardless of whether or not I chose to stay at the hotel.
Fast forward to the next morning, the day staff arrived. I told them of all the difficulties I experienced and that I still had no towels, a non working remote and a clogged toilet.
2 hours and 3 ft desk calls later, they sent someone they called maintenance. He came there with a plunger and batteries. He temporarily unstopped the toilet. After replacing the batteries, he came to the conclusion that the remote itself was not working an replaced it.
As for the towels? by 3pm there were still none available! So again I am in a hotel room with a clogged toilet and I never got my towels. 2 days with no towels and a clogged toilet.
There must have been an issue with the sewer system, because toilets were being removed and installed in other rooms!
Later that evening, one of the house staff came to do inventory on how may rooms had or did not have plungers.
Check out time came. I told The Manager Christy, that the night clerk stated, I would get a full refund for the room. She then proceeds to tell me what was actually documented. I would get a 20% discount on the room for 1 day! She then states that she will refund me 20% for both days. $31.00 for a $180.00 room! No one ever told me the name of the night clerk.

Your supposed to get certain perks if your a Vet or a Senior citizen if you stay for so many days and Smoke detectors go off at Three Am or during the day Calling the office is useless The washers and dryers are always broken. I have Lung disease and they have cut all the power of in the room.so I had no air in the middle of the summer. Been here 6 months and spent Thousands and thousands of dollars The water is shut off during the day with out notice The guesses are treated horrible They have no heart or compassion towards people I don't know if the CEO's know what really go on They would put you out in in a drop off a dime Also people can say just leave if it's so bad we'll I'm very very ill my careworker could only find here for us and has spent Thousands of dollars till I can get emergency housing for us and all our days we earned for bonus points were wiped out. Because in of the change of the New Year This was never brought up as one of there rules when we came here s of we lost there gracious benefit . It is a shame they do have some good workers here but they don't want to get in trouble and lose there jobs .Also let me warn you about how they feel free to go into your bank account and help themselves to your bank funds .They did it in June,this month on the 3rd for a few hundred dollars, and today they did it twice. This is fraud and I am going to press charges. So watch your bank account Of course they deny It and claim it's the banks mistake. Even though there name "Red Roof Inn " has their name, time, a date . They will turn off your utilities when they want,and this is illegal also . They also went into my Careworkers bank account five times and helped themselves to his cash . There was incident where one of the female employees threatened my careworker with physical violence, because he interrupted her conversation as she spoke about her vacation time.. Now I have also learned that if you use a V. A. or Senior Citizen discount your charged $35. more So don't use one of those to try and save some money. Your supposed to get free bottles of water everyday (good luck) no toilet paper, no soap , shampoo, coffee, sugar, creamer . Thier WIFI interferes with your phone service and my phone warns me about when it on your get it off ASAP , because they can tap right into your phones info. I can go on and on. , but my texting digits are numb , and I also have a other sites to write. Oh , when you get a reply from the owner they are all the same. They have tried to get into my Bank account to take out money four times without my permission twice they have done it and I did talk to the Bank and they verified the fact and reports have been filed....
Read moreSo my family and I had to stay here due to our home going through repairs. Our initial stay was from june 15th through to the 22nd, I paid through a third party. Check in was simple, the staff that night was efficient, the room was clean enough, and welcoming. I guess that was their way to reel you in because from there it only began our crazy stay.
One night around midnight we are getting ready for bed and some random person unlocks our room door! Good thing I had the chain on so they couldn't come all the way in. I repeatedly told the person the room was occupied but they still tried to enter.
Another night I was smoking a cigarette and some guy tried to sell me coke! 🤦♀️ I'm a healthy lady so idk with he thought I'd be into that..... Someone else in one of the rooms near me was also selling drugs.
The Friday before I was scheduled to leave, I went down to the office to pick extend our stay (any other place was booked so we had no other choice), I paid in full by debit card for another 4 nights. Staff told me I was "all set and good to go". I went back to my room and back to minding my business. Sunday staff (two men) knocked on my door and told me that I was supposed to check out the day before. I told them that I paid until the 26th. They told me to go down to the office and clear it up. I got dressed and went to the office. They said that I did not pay and had to leave. I told them I did and by card and even discribed the person that I spoke to the previous Friday morning. I got ahold of my bank and they confirmed that i made a second transaction with red roof inn extending my stay until the 26th and that it was in fact paid and already showing up on my bank statements. I put that call on speaker for staff to hear. They still proceeded to tell me that they still didn't have a record of my payment even with the proof. They then told me they can't kicked me out but they will see what their supervisor will want to do and that he will check the cameras.... I went back to my room, only to find out they changed my locks. I went back to the office and got a new key. Went back into my room and find they took some of my sheets without leaving any new ones.
We decided we were just going to leave early tonight, so I went to take my trash out and luggage and low and behold they changed my locks AGAIN!!!! I am just over it.
Oh. Did I mention the very not so shy mouse that lived with us the whole stay?
We will NEVER stay at another red roof inn ever again. This was one of my worse stays and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. But if you do need to stay here, make sure you pay with card to cover your own butt because the people next to us dealt with the same "lost payments". Also make sure you don't travel at night walking anywhere and put both locks on with the chair to block it...
