I am only giving this two stars because the first time we came here we had a good experience and the employees were nice. Otherwise, I really don’t even want to give 1 star. This time was different and I left with a sour feeling. The games were fine, I wish there were a little more options for younger kids, but overall we just had a problem with the customer service. There was a younger guy with red-ish brown hair that helped me at first behind the counter and he was very friendly. The old lady with the attitude problem is what made my visit not pleasant. She was very condescending and clearly should not be interacting with the customers at all. If I ask a simple question like “Do you mind helping me when you get a chance?”, I don’t expect a rude response in a question form saying “can I help these people first or not?”… If I wasn’t so caught off guard I would have probably had an inappropriate response to that, but I didn’t and said “no problem” and left. My poor child still has tickets on her card so I just gave them to a child on the way out because I knew I was never coming back. If she is a manager, I feel so sorry for the poor younger employees that work for her. Clearly this isn’t the only complaint about her either. It’s sad that I knew exactly who the person was talking about in their review when they were describing their experience. And I know I won’t be the last person to feel like this...
Read moreI'm not from this area of town, so I usually visit this arcade with friends and family about once a year. On my most recent visit, however, the lady behind the counter (I didn't catch her name) had a very condescending/rude attitude towards my party and I. It dampened the overall experience by a significant factor.
We were playing air hockey and the puck got caught in the machine. When we asked her to take a look at it, she had this very annoyed look as if we were bothering her when all we asked was for her help on a somewhat minor issue.
After we were done playing our games for the evening, my youngest brother wanted to get some pop-its behind the counter as a prize. It was at that point that the same lady went into a 5 minute lecture/tirade on how we shouldn't open them until we got home (a necessary point to make for legal reasons, but at the same point she gave the lecture in the most annoyed/snarky tone of voice possible). Granted, our group mainly consisted of teens/young adults. However, she made my brothers and friends feel unwelcome, which is a real shame given the fun that this place has provided over the years.
I believe that she is the manager of the place as she looked older than the other employees working there.
I would still recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a fun evening, but I feel that that particular employee needs to work on her...
Read moreThis review is of the new "Claw Mania" location in Fenwick.
My kids are claw machine lovers and were so excited to have a place less than a half an hour from us that had so many claw machines. This location is attached to Vikings Mini Golf so we played mini golf first then went to the arcade. This is a completely unmanned arcade. I understand of course that when you play claw games you're taking a gamble but itis really disappointing when it is clear that every game that isn't a guaranteed win (which are $5-$8 per play) is rigged. Claw machines that purposefully don't even grip so you have no chance at winning aren't fun. Even though we made the best of it we won't return.
For crane game enthusiasts I recommend Kako claw in Annapolis where they actually encourage winning and prizes...
