Flights of Fancy: Gourmet Pairings Palatable Price

A few years ago Bethany Blues featured a Friday Night Flights - special 3 course dinners paired with wine at an unbeatable price. My family and friends loved these dinners & they usually kicked off our weekend. Then they went away. BUT....now they're back! And they're better than ever because now you can get them curbside!

Order on the ChowNow or Bethany Blues App, pick a time, pay online, and pull up - it's loaded into your car. Choose an appetizer (last week it was a delicious Umami bomb of a Pumpkin, Crab, & Mushroom bisque or a generous house salad ) then 2 choices for entree - Brian's Shredded Tex-Mex beef or a bourbon glazed Bacon Wrapped Scallops served on a wood plank accompanied by veg, Spanish rice, and an amazing pineapple salsa. Desert was a to die for and generously sized Espresso Cheesecake (can you carry this always!?) - we could manage only half and it made for a nice treat on Saturday night. All courses were paired with either wine or bourbon. We chose the vino. It was a half glass tastings of a sparkling rose, a New Zealand Oyster Bay Sauv Blanc, and a lovely Pinot Noir. It was a delicious experience and a great value.

Breaking down the deal. $35 bucks -- minus $8 for the soup or salad, minus $10 for the amazing cheesecake, and minus $9 for the combined tastings of wine (3 tastings = 1 glass) - that leaves the entree only costing $9!!! Now that's what we call value! All packaged perfectly and piping hot!

Please note - though Bethany Blues has great in-house delivery - for some reason they won't deliver the Flights with the alcohol. Even though Door Dash, does. If you want the drink special - you gotta go pick it up!

PS. Other dinners are great here! There are great nightly specials, Taco Tuesday's, $10 Lunch Special, pigs on a wing, yummy bourbon pecan cake, peanut butter pie (bring it back please?), and I really love the deviled eggs! But mostly, the crabcake sandwiches? -- oh my! Woody's in Dewey should be worried about how big and how good they are...

Sadly there is no option for no stars. We have eaten many times at Bethany Blues and have always loved the food and atmosphere. After a long wait due to having a large group we were seated and our server was a trainee. Her trainer was there but not attentive to the point she forgot to ask about side choices, etc. Drink refills were slow and had to be requested. During the delivery of drinks one was accidentally spilled by the server onto one of the guests in our party. This was an accident and we acknowledged that it can happen to any of us. However, our complaint was that no one besides the server even acknowledged the incident or asked how they could help, make it right, etc. We approached the trainer who said she "saw the aftermath" but had no idea that the drink raspberry tea was spilled down his back. We asked that his meal be comped since this happened before our food came and they gave him a shirt to replace his ruined one. They did bring him a shirt but he was made to pay his meal. No one from the trainer to management made time to come over once to check in after they were made aware of the incident. Our meals were mixed up when they arrived. The checks were mixed up when they arrived. And the gentleman who had the tea spilled on him was charged for extra beverages. All these things are understandable for a trainee. But the lack of support given to this poor girl led to many dissatisfied customers at our table and the tables around us. After the fact we paid we again asked to speak to a manager and only then after we paid did she offer a gift card. We won't return. No need for a gift card. Customer Service is a skill and this place needs some serious refresher courses on how to run a business and...

5 min wait when we went in off season, was Christmas decorated which I loved, soon as u walk in your acknowledged, AND greeted very welcoming by the take out ladies and by ALL of them not just the one standing at the front of the register at the moment, got our chilli B4 our meal FAST, got our food FAST, and it was amazing no issues and we were checked on more then 3 times while eating and our guy waiter I can't remember his name he was tall, dark nicely kept and shaped beard with bright blue eyes that were beautiful (btw) lol, anyway the restaurant was dead, lot of booths open so not sure if this is the same during summer when there slammed but it was great all around no problems and it's hard to find experienced servers that actually come check on u after they bring your food out more then once by the time u get done, but he checked at least 3 times After we got our delivered food. Not including the other times before that when we had our chilli appetizer and got our drinks. I'm an experienced server of 10 years serving and I never leave reviews bcuz I'm so busy but if I do it's a short one (like I said I usually NEVER do) but this waiter was absolutely very attentive and very concerned that we made sure we had everything we needed at all times and was so attentive he needs to be recognized cuz the food there is always good but just a bad server can ruin your whole experience and make u not recommend nor return to a restaurant easily so with that said I had to go take the time to write this and with such detail.
