Nice park area by the water. There is a small kiddie play structure and swings to the east, nearest the water, then a ride-on Zipline type play structure and disc swing at another play area across the parking lot in the middle, and on the other side of that towards the west on the other end of the park is tennis courts, a dog park, etc. My kids love the Zipline and disc swing. They are tween/teen. It took a little time to find the Zipline spot, but if you pull in the parking lot near the kiddie structure, turn right, toward the tennis courts and it's through a short chain link fence, in the left corner of the parking lot. It's a great area, spread out enough to give everyone fun, fresh air and space. The bathrooms are currently closed, but there are a couple...

July 2023- Our first time in Big Bear, I did a Google search to find a good place to take my 4 year old to swim in the lake with a beach area. After reading about this place, saying it was great for kids, there’s a beach, swimming, lifeguard on duty, water toys, and a floating dock, I thought it would be perfect. This information is completely out of date. There’s a small play ground overlooking the lake, which is nice, however, there’s no beach or swimming area. Just a big rocky shore. Definitely no lifeguard or water toys anywhere to be seen… and the floating dock? A desolate looking dock, half sinking and surrounded by algae. Skip this place if you’re looking for a fun place to swim or...

During my recent visit to the beach, I was left quite disappointed by the lack of amenities. I chose this beach from a web search.. The absence of a lifeguard on duty raised safety concerns, and the closure of the water toys and snack bar added to the disappointment. Another draw back is there is not a defined beach area. Instead, swimmers were forced to navigate through large, sharp rocks just to find a tiny spot with sand.

We didn't stay.. If you are searching for a family beach with parking and public restrooms go to East...

ANOTHER GREAT PLACE FOR NATURE PHOTOGRAPHS AND JUST RELAXING AND LETTING ALL WORRIES AND STRESS GO AWAY. THE ONLY REASON I DIDNT GIVE IT 5 STARS IS DUE TO WHAT MAN HAS DONE TO EARTH. ITS VERY OBVIOUS AND CLEAR NATURE IS BEING AFFECTED BY OUR FORMS OF FUEL, AND I KNOW THIS IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SUBJECT, WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO GO SOLAR NOW SO LETS DUE IT FOR OUR PLANET AND OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS. SO AGAIN THIS IS A 5 STAR LOCATION BUT WITH ONE STAR STOLEN BY POLLUTION AND SMOG. šŸšŸ˜ž

This is a very nice park next to the lake with lots of parking and activities. Ballpark and many kids play areas as well as a cool dog park. The parking areas have several handicap parking spaces and ramps at the entrance to the welcome office. The park was very clean and the maintenance staff were busy making sure everything was neat and safe. Highly recommended.

Three years later and it still gets 2 stars. It says on google dogs are allowed. At this beach tney are 100% not allowed. You can sort of walk your dog down a rock filled path nearby and climb down to a rocky edge. It's pretty dirty imo. 3 years ago, This beach is not open. The water level is so low its fenced off now. Such a bummer.
