As a service worker, I am APPALLED at the attitudes & lack of hospitality from some employees.
At check-in, the employee at the front desk was not at all empathetic nor polite, making me feel out of place & unwelcome.
(Night 6/11/24) after struggling to gamble with my free points, the guy at the players desk explained that you had to insert cash with the free pts, which I don’t think would make sense to anyone, then rudely stated “IT’S WHAT I JUST TOLD YOU,” when I continued to ask questions. Still alone & feeling defeated, I cried & went to my room,
I planned to spend the first day of my stay(6/12/24) at the pool, but it was closed from 2pm on. They offered apologies for the inconvenience, & nothing more, with our paid rooms + “resort fees.” The pool was one of the things that I was most excited for.
My partner arrived that second night, & we went to the casino. After some gambling, we had just given one bartender a $20 bill, after half an hour or so of drinking & sitting at the bar, playing the electronic poker games. They switched bartenders, & we were walking around playing slots. We didn’t have change to tip per drink, so after not tipping the new bartender on the first drink, he flat out REFUSED TO SERVE US & told us “no” to our order(bald dude, worked night of 6/12/24-early morning 6/13/24). That’s a great way to lose a tip & to lose business for the casino. As someone who works in a bar & knows what it’s like to not earn a paycheck & get stiffed by a customer, but continuing to do my job, even when this happens, I was LIVID, especially since he was acting on his own assumption that we weren’t going to tip. My friend & I finally politely confronted him about it, after me stewing in my anger & insisting we say something, & explained that we just didn’t have change & never planned on stiffing him(we knew we’d be back & could tip him with a larger bill after a few drinks). He then RANG US UP before he was willing to make our drinks. We had to pay $20 for 2 drinks that should’ve been free(we spent hundreds at the casino), because this man ASSUMED we weren’t going to tip him. Very rude & unprofessional.
I don’t recommend booking through Expedia, unless it is a significant discount from the hotel booking, because they will basically give you the middle finger on issues such as switching rooms(wanted to get out of a smoking room), etc. Everything “has to be done through Expedia.” The front desk was going to let me switch rooms but said it had to be done through Expedia, & Expedia said no. Non-smoking rooms were the only ones available at the time of booking, & I wasn’t made aware by my partner until we had checked in(not the resort’s fault).
I have severe anxiety disorder, & the treatment from employees, along with being in a new place on my own & not knowing how to navigate things, left me crying or with swollen eyes for half my stay.
Spa only has hair services & maybe nail services(?) until further notice.
Found some hairs on the shower knob, along with writing & some handprints on the shower glass.
Everything else was clean.
I was delivered a microwave, when I asked for one, which was cool & helpful.
Thanks to Cory & Austin, bartenders at the Cafe, for greatly improving my night. Nothing but good experiences w servers at the HR Cafe, Sugar Factory, & Ruth’s. We had some cool & new experiences, but we will be trying a different hotel, hopefully w more polite & professional staff, for our next stay.
**Rating is mostly based upon the rude employees. I was disappointed w/ the pool being closed & being provided no compensation for the lack of amenities without warning. Other details mostly listed to provide honest info to potential customers. **Dates/descriptions provided so that hopefully, these employees may be reprimanded, before they run off polite, honest...
Read moreWARNING: IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO STAY
It is not a safe place to stay. We’re military family on the way PCSing (permanent change of station) He picked this place at the first night since we started the journey because he said stay in here they have security and safe for us and from some point who have stayed here and we have things on our vehicles because we’re moving everything.
When getting in it’s very sketchy with people smoking everywhere and no security gate or any person. NO CAMERA for the parking lots ONLY at the place when cars turn!!!
We went to the room we booked with the thought we paid and will be safe in here!!
In the morning we walked to the truck and BOOM Nothing left i meant NOTHING!! It was not 1-2 items/boxes!!! THEY CLEANED EVERYTHING on the truck!! CLEANED (STOLE) EVERYTHING! I meant EVERYTHING!!! We have ab 10-15 big boxes of things because moving to another station!! Everything we have for the house for food for clothes for baby for furniture for EVERYTHING!!
You should know that despite this being a highly rated hotel, it is not a safe place to stay. If you look at other bad reviews (as I wish I had) you will see that theft is a common problem here. We stayed for 1 night and parked our car in the hotel parking lot. All of OURS's belongings, as we were moving her across country. We had stayed in a number of lesser hotels (Holiday Inn Express, etc) where we asked management about the safety in their parking lot and were assured there were cameras and security guards. We (foolishly) assumed a hotel like the Hard Rock BILOXI would have the same. After some hrs sleeping we discovered our entire truck had been stolen EVERYTHING. We went back to the front desk and they called security - waited hrs and they can’t do NOTHING. Absolutely NOTHING!!! They tried to say WE DO have security and camera but they DO NOT have for the car LOTS!! why we spend money on you to not feel safe? They called my husband later that day to get more info then the man made fun of my husband got the lesson and laughed!! my husband said I need the number of your GENERAL MANAGER but he didn and made excuses!! They told us they would investigate and get back and we heard ZERO from them/their MANAGERS till now. The big brand of Casino Hotel that you think you could feel safe when spending time/money on them don't show their care and consideration. Replacing all of the items in the truck will be very expensive, and that was the worst experience that i have with the hotels even being traveled a lot! The HARD ROCK bran casino hotel don't even want to make a show of good faith considering their reputation! This hotel was recommended to us by a number of pp who frequent visit Biloxi. If you aren't robbed, I suppose it would be a nice place to stay. But why wouldn't a hotel that spends lavishly on decor AND makes tons of dollars a day on their casino operation care enough about their guests to ensure their hotel is a safe and secure place? They told we left their hotel while we didn’t have a piece of clothes to wear!! We reported police too THIS IS NOT A SAFE...
Read moreThis review is for people who are discerning when it comes to nice accommodations. I have been to hotels and casinos all over the world, and this is hands down one of the worst I have been to in a decade for the price. The room here was the most expensive room at any casino in the area. Online we reserved a Platinum Tower non-smoking Queen Room with a beach view for 2 nights We did NOT get a beach view, we are staring Mary Mahoney’s. The sound from the traffic and hospital is loud. We figured. Who cares we aren’t going to be in here long enough for it to matter. As we sat our things down to relax, we noticed that the air vents AND light fixtures in both the bedroom and bathroom are caked in dust —appearing that it has been a long period of time since being cleaned. The door that goes to the option “adjoining room” has hand and arm prints, and even a print of someone’s face and ear. (see photos) The toilet runs occasionally like the flap is going bad, and it’s set crooked We can’t get the shower head to stop dripping (and I’m not even sure how we even got one of the heads to turn on, it honestly needs instructions lol) There is no extra blanket, and the room was NOT cleaned while we were out for the day. We can hear when the people in the next room are showering, using the sink or flushing. During the morning we were able to smell the strong scent of marijuana in our room apparently coming from one of the rooms nextdoor. Speaking of scent- the deodorizer in the hotel smells like what you get ina. Truck stop bathroom scent dispenser. It stinks. The entire lobby and casino smells very strongly of cigarettes and stale alcohol, reminiscent of an old school riverboat casino prior to modern day air filtration systems and hvac scenting. Let’s move on to the action casino… it’s tiny. The riverboats are bigger, and a majority of the dealers we encountered were rude, or overall lacking in personality. the had some tables with a $5 minimum bet,, which is not a plus in my book. We have not stayed to play in the casino here. We tried to go to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, because it was open until midnight, we arrived around 9:15pm, we were sat and after 20 minutes of our table not being greeted or acknowledged, we chose to get up and leave. We ended up eating at the asian place, which uses imported seafood (even though we are on tbr coast- make it make sense) and it was fine. At least the service wasn't bad. As a woman, I did NOT feel safe walking alone in the casino or lobby, or the hall to the Platinum Tower later at night. I certainly would not walk outside alone at all. Hard Rock Biloxi is terrible value for the money when there are other options. There is no amount of memorabilia to make this worth it. shame on Bally's, no wonder we didn't have a player's card with them. The only people who could possobly be enjoying this are staying in a comped room, and TBH, i would still hate it. I am leaving 2 stars instead of one for only one reason, it is...
