POCO is a really good spot to get vegan food with a really good, laid back atmosphere. It's a small space, but still pretty busy during the weekend. There are a lot of options on the menu, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about sitting outside to eat in the summer. During cooler months (when I visited), it's great, but I imagine (but can't actually speak to) it's uncomfortable through the summer.
Some of the menu items are a little spicy. For example, the fries come with ketchup that can really kick you in the mouth. That being said, be careful if you are ordering for kids and all for regular ketchup. The dishes we tried each came with extra sauce/salsa to add, so the extra heat is somewhat optional.
As a note of caution for those interested, it seems a number of the menu items are "cheesy", using Daiya cheese. If you're not used to this kind of product, know that it is not quite like cheese, but it's a good enough alternative once...
Read moreMy partner and I spent two months in Bisbee, and we left completely enchanted by the town and its eclectic mix of local characters. Small businesses like Poco Market are an integral part of Bisbee's charm. The owner and staff are warm, friendly, and knowledgable about the extraordinary array of unique products stocked in the store. The pre-made burritos are terrific, and the fresh menu items (currently only available on Saturdays) are worth a dedicated trip. Poco became our Friday night treat; we'd go pick out a bunch of plant-based delicacies and create an indulgent, vegan charcuterie spread. We looked forward to it every week! The craft wine and beer selection is also impressive; I particularly liked the piquette. Truly, I've never seen such an impressively curated selection of plant-based goodies. Can't wait to see what's new in stock next time we...
Read moreMy family recently stopped here for lunch on our driving tour of the "Old West." We were looking for some vegetables after too much BBQ and meat over the previous few days. So we are decidedly not vegan and generally don't go to vegan places, but the bartender at the brewery recommended it when they only had chili, so we went. Everything we had was great. The brussels sprout burrito was delicious and satisfying. The rest of the table had 2 different salads and a soup. We passed around tastes and generally shared and everyone liked everything. My 6 year-old said his taco salad was too spicy, but still ate at least half of it.
It was a long wait. I didn't knock any off the rating for that because I knew it going in. It does not claim to...
