Overall its a great place to learn to play any of the major tabletop hobby games. There are regular groups that play Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, and Warhammer. I personally play DnD, and it's probably the friendliest place in town to play and meet others, with two nights a week dedicated to playing individual encounters, one especially geared to new players. The runners of these campaigns are fantastic. The Warhammer events seem well-run as well. The store owner also seems willing to allot time to individuals wishing to have a place to play there own campaign or board game.
As far as the retail side, it's a great place to get pewter miniatures or other non-dnd games. They've been a tad slow in the past getting the latest DnD books, but if your just planning to walk in the store to get a new-release book, pay the lowest price possible, and go home, you're obviously better off going to Amazon. What makes this place unique is the ability to interact with other players that play the games that are the whole reason to go to the store anyway. Whenever I want to get a new gaming item, I use this store because I like to support the store's unique use as a gathering and...

The guy at the counter told me he could look up a price if I wanted. I'd like to see the prices on everything when I browse! Can you imagine a store that doesn't advertise its prices? I have never encountered another retail store of any type that follows this puzzling business model.
Decent selection, but still no prices on the board games. I don't want to have to ask what each one costs as I'm browsing. I find this baffling for any store, and it has to be...
Read moreWhen I tried selling some mtg singles, I was given an extremely low offer (roughly 10% of tcg fair market). The employee who made the offer didn't bother looking up 90% of the cards, and tried to get me to accept the cash immediately. DO NOT accept offers without knowing the value of what you bring in, and make sure you deal with someone who is willing to look up prices. Only giving two stars instead of 1 because one employee had the patience to look up some of the cards and even seemed disappointed at his coworkers poor handling of the deal. I would be very wary of selling/trading here, but the comic and board game selection...
