Worst movie experience ever! After an incredibly terrible, horrible, no good day, my 8 year old daughter convinced me to go see the Adams family in 3d on opening night. We both were extremely excited as we did not think the movie came out until the 11th of October. When we got to the theater, nobody was at the ticket counter and two employees were at the concession stand having a conversation and did not even acknowledge our presence. I asked them where to check in and the gentleman told me that his coworker could help me. They then told me the theater I was to go in and off I went. There were no 3D glasses available anywhere so I went back to the concession stand and they told me to go "over there." I had no idea where they were talking about so I headed back towards the theater and thankfully an employee grabbed me some glasses as I passed what appeared to be the ticket checking podium. I have never seen a cartoon in 3D so I did not know what to expect as far as the 3D picture. A half an hour into the movie I could no longer stand watching it as everything looked as if there were three of everything and blurry. My daughter was complaining that the screen was green and blurry. She had taken her glasses off about 15 minutes into it as she couldn't stand to watch it either. I went back out to the concession stand and told the same employees that's everything looked like it was 3 of everything and very blurry. The employees said that they take care of it and when I made it back to the theater, I was amazed as the picture was crystal clear and actually 3D. After an hour and 15 minutes of the movie starting, I went out to purchase a soda and asked if I could go to my car and come back in. There was one gentleman at the concessions counter and he told me that they were not open and the doors were closed and locked as the last movie had already started. I was in shock and asked him if he was aware that we had to watch a half an hour of the movie that was blurry and not in 3d and he simply said yes. I went back to the theater to finish the movie and tell my daughter unfortunately I could not get her soda. I went out to the concession stand once again to ask if the duration of the movie on their website of 1 hour and 45 minutes included the previews or not as my daughter and I were extremely thirsty. The same gentleman told me that he believed it did not include the previews but he was not sure. In the end, the movie including previews was 1 hour and 50 minutes. As I got into my car to leave, a group of people walked into the theater and once again I was in shock as I was told the doors were closed and locked. I went back into the theater to ask the employee what his name was as I was completely fed up and frustrated at that point in time. Unfortunately when I went back in, there were no employees to be found anywhere. I will definitely drive the extra 15 minutes to Auburn next time I decide to go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOur family is not hard to please, but I will say that we recently had the most unpleasant experience at this particular theatre, that weāve ever had. Evidently, the theater was bought out by a different owner who thought it would be a good idea to do away with the cash box. So now, instead of purchasing your tickets up front like usual, you now have to buy your tickets at the snack bar, alongside everyone else. The lines were astronomical! We arrived at the theater (totally by accident) a whole hour early. Weāve never arrived more than 30mn early for any given show, because weāve never had to. However, this time Iām glad that we did, or we would have been late. We stood in line for 40mn just to purchase our tickets, which are now ALL reserved seats, btw. So even though we arrived an hour before our movie was to begin, we had very limited seating options, and none of the seats were together, so our family had to split up (nowhere close to one another) throughout the feature. As a result of this change, there were several people who were accidentally sitting in other peopleās seats, which made for a lot of shuffling and talking throughout the first 15mn of the movie. And they pack you in like sardines! (Which is their whole purpose for the reserved seating in the first place). Trying to make every penny they can.
Another grievance is, because of the long lines, due to everyone purchasing their tickets at the snack bar, even though we paid for the refillable popcorn and drinks, there was no possible way to get a refill! The lines were so outrageous throughout the entire showing, (yes, I checked), that just to get a refill would cost you to miss most of the movie! It was ridiculous. :/
And since when do theaters play 10 movie previews? 5-6 maybe. But 10?? The littles were restless before the movie even got started! And this was a family movie, at that!
The hubs said he would never pay to come here again. I have to agree. I would much prefer a more pleasant experience if Iām going to drop over $100 on entertainment. Itās a shame. We really enjoyed this place before all of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI use this theater because it is local, that's it. This theater had great potential (no nearby competition and fairly large population) but Regal management is half brain dead. (like that in many floundering rapidly changing industries) Probably never even heard of economic value theory or marginal pricing. Note to theater executives; you are in competition with modern home theaters, they aren't "stealing" your business you just no longer have a monopolistic situation, welcome to the free market, offer me something I want at a price that I a willing to pay..
No incentive for the matinee as the puny $1.50 discount stops right at 4pm, 4PM! Then they only have 2 good theaters out of the ten (5 and 6) and no discount or warning that you are going to be stuck in one of the tiny theaters. The sound volume is never properly set, I've lost track of the number of times I have had to tell management that it was actually painful and to fix it or give me a refund. (they do fix it, but I shouldn't need to ask, A company this size should have a proper standard and do routine checks with a professional meter.) Concessions are over the top cost wise so I don't buy any at all. If the price of matinee tickets was maybe $6-7 and good until a 6pm cutoff (to include the standard 5 pm showings, which traditionally are matinee times) I would likely see 3 times as many movies in the theater. Same goes for concessions, if the price was at all reasonable (half or a third of current price) I would by corn, candy, and drink for every show, instead I buy nothing. I have now begun driving to more reasonable theaters, one in federal way has $3 tickets and the corn, while still out of line, is a bit less. Cinerama in Seattle has higher ticket prices but the sound is always right, lobby nicely lit, the screen is jumbo super duper, they have a balcony section, and the option of...
