We took a holiday getaway overnighter across the state line, booking the room on a weeknight after Christmas and before Newyears, through an outside vendor. Having driven to the hotel, we arrived into a parking lot that was quite full, and after driving around the lot for ten minutes, a space did become available in the back forty! Nearly frozen, we made our way up to the check-in counter to find out that rooms are not available. They are still being cleaned, mind you check-in is 4 pm, and it was almost 6 pm. The employee was searching and calling the cleaning staff then we agreed on a room with an extra bed. The room was clean but I did take photos of all the damage as a precaution, like the knife hole in the wall, smudges/scuffs on the walls, cigarette burn holes in the sheets (a non-smoking room), etc... The lighting at night is pitiful! We enjoyed dinner at the Sports Book with a great server, tasty food, and vast entertainment. Definitely will return for a replay! The next morning scrambling to make the 11 am. check out time, showering, the hotel's provided soap, shampoo, and conditioner are empty! Drenched, I'm forced to scramble out of the shower and locate my travel bag for what I need. Luckily, I had soap and shampoo to get us through. As we packed up and headed to check out, we passed housekeeping, letting them know we were checking out and that the supplies in the shower needed replacing. While my husband handled the details, I stopped to get an iced coffee at the coffee bar. I ordered a vente iced coffee with milk and sugar. It was sluge! I paid $6 for the worst coffee I have ever tasted. Note to self next time bring my own.

We were visiting Shreveport during the recent ice storm. We were SHOCKED that the parking and sidewalks were not cleared except right by the front door. When we arrived, we had to park in the furthest handicapped spot from the front door but it was right by a side door. There was a barricade blocking the entrance to the door BUT it had been moved so we went in that door and were stopped and chastised by the security guard who was stationed at the door and told that door was closed (then why station a guard at a closed door?) and told that we had to go outside and walk down the treacherous uncleared sidewalk to the front door. My husband is an amputee with a bad knee and we said no and asked for the floor manager. Instead, the security guard called another security guard on the radio and said there was an uncooperative couple that refused to go back out and go in the front door. The second guard after hearing that one of us was handicapped and the sidewalk wasn't cleared finally let us in. It was the most ridiculous thing for the casino to A) Not make some effort to clear the parking lot and sidewalk, B) close a door and make people walk further on the ice ESPECIALLY when they had enough personnel to station someone at the door, C) to be treated so poorly and D) to not get to speak to some management when we asked but instead be treated like we were criminals. We were coming to eat at Jimmy's and drop A LOT on dinner and it just started off our special dinner (on our anniversary trip) in a very negative way.

The casino is great with a selection of slots and the staff was very nice but we were staying here for my moms early surgery just like we do every time she has to go in. It’s kind of a ritual to stay here at this point. And this time we had some issues. The room next to use was throwing a very loud party. And we were not the only ones to notice. Our room was at the end of the hall and the “party room” was right past ours at the very end of the hall on the same side. We complained about the loud noise but just wanted a different room… we didn’t get a new room but the front desk lady did call them, which did not help. They started partying very loudly again and we went down again to complain and at this point multiple people were complaining as you could hear them screaming and the music at the elevators. We yet again asked for a different room but she informed us they did not have a room to give us. But she followed us up stairs and let us get back into the room before knocking on their door and giving them a final warning or they would be removed from the premises. At this point we just said whatever we will let everyone else complain and sure enough they didn’t quite down. Finally got quite around 12 at night and we left our room at 5 am. We will be staying again because of how nice it is and we really do enjoy this hotel but I am highly disappointed with our stay this particular time.

It was ok, that’s about the best descriptor I can use. All of the employees that we encountered were awesome, helpful, and friendly. Our room was comfortable, however it almost seemed like the maid got halfway through the room prep and quit. We had one bed that wasn’t completely made up and some trash left on the floor. Our bathroom had some liquid soap by the sink and that was it. No shampoo, no conditioner, no body wash, no lotion, and no bath soap. We had dinner in house at Drago’s, once again the people were great but the food was meh. Having eaten multiple times at Drago’s in New Orleans I expected better. The casino floor was ok just small, I won a little it was ok except I was never offered a drink while playing, that was a first. After we went back to our room my daughter and I went on a quest for ice. Our floor’s ice machine was broken and the room it was in smelled horrible. We went down one floor and there was no machine at all. Then we went up two floors, finally found a machine that worked but the same disgusting smell was in that room too. Yuck. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet so it was ok.
