College Convenience — Attraction in Boston

I am very sad to change this review from 5-stars to 3 stars.

Plenty about this place still slaps -- the spice wall is unrivaled, great ramen selection, frozen paneer and breads, as well as dosa batter.

The prices have evidently gone up. I went recently and paid almost $60 for a single bag of groceries -- granted, here's what I got:

2x Haldiram large blocks of paneer (800g) 1x Deep's small bag of kashmiri chili powder (200g) 1x Deep's small bag of garam masala (200g) 1x Haldiram family size bag of aloo paratha (1.6kg)

Looking online, I am able to assemble many carts that beat this price. I would rather shop in person, but $60 for this cart is very unreasonable, especially considering there are many Indian students living nearby with few other options.

I understand the high prices may not be the fault of this store, but the prices have gotten out of hand.

College Convenience store is more like a college robbery than any convenience at all. We got two packs of drinks at an exorbitant price compared to other places that sell the same products (there were no price tags, we learned the hard way why). When we tried to return the products immediately (as we realized how overpriced they were), the cashier told us we cannot return them. We asked whether there was a sign that items cannot be returned, and were told that there is no sign but that "that's just the way it is". I find this place extremely misleading with the worst customer service. Highly do NOT recommend...

I came here a month or so ago because I was craving Asian snacks but was annoyed because the cashier's mask was sitting on the counter and he didn't make an effort to put it on after I politely asked if he had one. I didn't think too much of it at the time since I was the only other person in the store. I'm writing this review now because I went back again and this time there were two other customers not wearing their masks, in addition to the cashier who was mask-less again. It's unfortunate that this is the closest place to me that sells (overpriced) Asian snacks because I won't be comfortable...
