I had the absolute pleasure of working at Phillips for three years when living in Boston, and miss it constantly (and miss eating chocolate daily constantly too). This family owned business is a Boston staple, the oldest chocolatier in Boston started in 1925, with a really beautiful history and legacy. An occasional visit by Mark Wahlberg was pretty cool too. The confections are all made on sight, and overnight, by brilliant chocolatiers. You couldn't go wrong with anything you picked, from their famous turtles and fudge, to the chocolate covered cherries or almond buttercrunch. The aroma of chocolate fills your nose the moment you walk in, tempting you to try it all. Having been out of the area for over 7 years, I bought all of my favorites to last me through the winter (although I was sad to see the wintergreen patties were no more). It's getting to be that time for the giant filled Easter Eggs too. Do yourself a favor and stop in, you will not be disappointed.

Phillips always comes through 🍫 This morning I had the pleasure of being Welcomed and served by Hannah. I needed a gift box to bring to a dinner party. She was patient and so helpful. The options were endless and Hannah explained each and everyone. I asked her what she would think If I brought these boxes to her home this evening “I would skip dinner and go straight for the candy” she replied. Once my choices were complete —-All were wrapped Beautifully! After all these years it’s easy to slip into sitting on the laurels of reputation alone. Phillips continues to be committed to quality locally made candies, chocolates, and excellent service. Thank you 🙏🏽

This place has some damn fine chocolate! Gotta say: impressed! It’s not the best chocolate I’ve ever had but it was delicious and I’d definitely come here again! Curious about the thick trading practices for the chocolate, as I usually choose my daily chocolate supply based on that, but so glad such good chocolate is right next door! And the selection is impressive! The place is stocked and quite large!!!! Sugar free and Vegan options too!!!

I used to love this place but I am seriously considering no longer shopping year after my experience this year. First I ordered a Large Turtle basket online. I went to pick it up the next afternoon and the order was not ready. My mother was out running some errands the next day so she stopped by the Morrissey blvd store to pick up the basket and she was given a SMALL turtle basket.

Next I went online to order a small turtle basket. Their website would not let me change the shipping recipient. So I called Customer Service where the first customer service representative hung up on me and told me they do not take orders over the phone (RUDE!). So I called back and got a customer service representative to assist me. Tonight I get a confirmation that the package was finally being shipped after over a week and they are sending the package to the WRONG ADDRESS !!! I tried calling customer service and I could only leave a message.

OH....and you cannot leave a message for customer service because I keep getting an error message.

As a business they control the customer experience and this year I am hugely disappointed. I will see how quickly they can get this resolved but If you can go pick up your order the next day I don't understand why it took over a week to ship out the package and why they keep screwing...
