Made a decent sized donation one evening. I had two young kids in the car and the gentleman working, wheeled a cart out to my car and helped me load everything up. He was very pleasant and smiled a lot. Made light conversation. It was a nice experience!
This morning, 3 days later...I realized that my daughter’s backpack was missing! It is one of those stuff animal packs with a pouch and I knew she would be devastated if we couldn’t find it. I was worried that it might have been given away my mistake so in a panic, I called Goodwill and talked to a wonderful young woman. Trust me, I KNOW how ridiculous is it to ask a Goodwill to keep an eye out for one missing item. It’s crazy pants....but she never laughed at me or gave me any attitude. She only expressed sadness for us while still being realistic about the likelyhood of finding it, which I appreciated and was already aware of. Turns out, we found the item at Grandma’s house but I called back to let Goodwill know not to trouble themselves looking. Talked to a different worker and again....she didn’t laugh at me or call me crazy for even having asked them to look. She only thanked me for letting them know and congratulated us for having found it.
Now, it might not seem like much....but this day in age, just feel like the positivity and the kindness shown from all three of these Goodwill employees is getting harder and harder to find and I feel like they deserve a shoutout! I will definitely be coming back to donate again and plan on doing some shopping there as well. Thanks...
Read moreI visited the Goodwill of Greater Washington Retail Store in Bowie, Maryland, today, and I was absolutely appalled by the behavior of one of the employees, Almeila. Her attitude towards her coworkers was shockingly rude and mean. It was clear that she had no regard for the people she was working with, and her nastiness was completely unnecessary.
As someone who values a respectful and welcoming environment, I was deeply uncomfortable witnessing this. Almeila’s behavior is a serious issue that needs to be addressed immediately. It’s obvious that she is in dire need of customer service training because her lack of professionalism is damaging not just to her coworkers but to the store’s overall atmosphere.
Goodwill of Greater Washington should seriously reconsider how they train and manage their staff. No one deserves to be treated with such disrespect, and it’s disappointing to see this happening in what should be a supportive workplace. I hope management takes swift action to...
Read moreNice stuffs but rude managers mostly, not children friendly, I came over to shop for my kids and I'm not expected to leave them at home by themselves but it appears as a regular customer, whenever my kids approached the goodwill store, there's a particular cashier already knows them and the next thing she does is to get on the announcement phone warning kids. Why......????? Ain't you a parent?
Also I was once accused wrongly by a so called manager that one of the most expensive furniture I came to pick wasn't scanned.....i was so angry that I requested a number to speak with the headquarter manager....your customers are not to be treated as piece of thrash because you see them all coming in to get some used appliances doesn't make them poor and think the best thing is to insult people's personality. They all need to undergo more customers service training as they really lacking...
