I've been going to BITG for 2 or 3 years when they were still called Play N Trade. I run a YouTube channel with my brother and friends so we often come here whenever we want to find something Let's Play worthy or just to mess around with.
As many others have established, the staff is very nice. The people who work there are so nonchalant, it feels like you're talking to a gaming buddy. We once won a raffle and got ourselves a free game that was worth $30 or less. The game, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle was $50 and had been sitting on that shelf for who knows how long considering the obscurity of Suda51 games. They were like, "Hey! You guys have been coming here a while. Take it!"
Translation: "Okay this game as been sitting here for 4 years! We're tired of looking at it! PLEASE TAKE IT!!"
Whenever I walk in, I always find myself at the retro game section. One of these days I'm getting my hands on a PS2, SNES, or a SEGA Genesis. Sonic The Hedgehog, Streets of Rage 2, Mortal Kombat and Madden 93' were my go-to Genesis games as a kid. (circa. 2009)
That aside, I do have one complaint, which is a big deal coming from a guy like me. We once bought a crappy blue PS4 controller from them. It only works when the charger is plugged in and it disconnects randomly during gameplay. I don't know what the hell that was all about. (I can swear in these reviews, right?)
Would I buy another from them? Ehhhhh, If they let us test it first.
Despite that one complaint, Back In the Game is a fun place to buy games and chill. Like all places, they'll have their flaws. My friends and I will continue to shop here whenever we're in need of new games or consoles.
And hey, I haven't heard from GameStop since I applied for a job there, so maybe I'll jump ship to you guys one day. Monday Night Wars style. (The good ol'...
Read moreWalked in. The salesman informed me today games with a particular sticker were âtwo for oneâ. So, thatâs buy one, get one right?....Bought four games the same price. Charged for three, got one free. Called the salesman out on the fact.... with the boss (assume it was him since afterwards he got in the car with advert wrap on it) right there, and the guy says âOh,I meant it was buy two get one free. SorryI should have explained it better.â Boss man bagged my stuff and handed it to me..... nothing to say. No apologies for the clerks misleading âoopsâ.... Half tempted to return the stuff and walk out, but the guy did help me with a couple things. Selection was good in some areas, meh in others, and the retro machines ( N64, SNES, etc)?.... Nope! Nooooooo! Uh uh! NoooooOOOOOOOoooooo!!!!! I actually walked out of there and bought a Watermelon N64 from a seller I frequent on Ebay for less than half the price with an extra controller, AND two games, rIght out in the parking lot! I wish you well BITG, but some of your prices are no where near as competitive you think. A few are just stupid outrageous, and most are just too high period. The ones in the most notabaly poor condition were marked fairly for a cart in good condition, and some were not even worth a second look and right where they should be. Sorry, guys. I am not a super frugal shopper buy any means. But I will try to protect my investment to a point. I...
Read moreVery very shady place. I brought in equipment to trade in after I tested myself and a switch to get fixed. They said trade in systems didnât work/turn on after I know they did. I rejected their low ball offer and went back to get my stuff. Had games missing from the cases and the employee there said he didnât know there werenât notes in the computer and it was probably in the system. It wasnât. Then they said since I wasnât trading I would have to pay the diagnostic fee to fix the switch which was no problem at all. The guy working said was like oh donât know if itâs worth fixing or buying a new one. I asked him for the system back he gave me the remotes and I questioned the system itself since it wasnât worth fixing. Minutes later he came out with the switch saying it was already fixed and someone should have told me but couldnât realease it until I paid the fee. No one told me what the issue was or cost would be before to fix it because I needed to pay diagnostics fee. I ended up paying 120$ to get my switch back. The manager was the one that told me I had to pay 20$ diagnostic fee before they would work on it and I let the employee know. Very shady bad experience only positive is the switch was fix but ended up leaving with games missing and a bad ps2 with missing wires that they couldnât find and...
