I want to start out my saying, I hate writing bad reviews. Itās something I almost never do. Iām more inclined to just not be a returning customer than take to the internet. But when I feel strongly that I was poorly treated or taken advantage of, it feels like the right thing to do to warn others.
I have gone to Hunter Paige three times to have my hair highlighted with Skye. This post is not to disparage Skye. She is very sweet and the first 2 visits to her she did a great job with my hair, which is why I returned. However, everyone has off days and things happen which I totally understand. And which is also why when I got home after my 3rd visit with her and took a good look at my hair, realizing it was quite orange, I did not want to call back and ācomplainā. I wanted to sit with it and try to convince myself it wasnāt that bad. But a friend, that is also a hairdresser, mentioned nicely that my hair ādidnāt look greatā. And thatās when I had to acknowledge the fact that I just needed to call back and try to make it right.
I spoke with Dede and very kindly explained the situation. I was going on vacation in a few days and really wanted my hair to be fixed prior to that. I explained my friend had availability to fix it that Saturday before I left. I was not asking for a full refundā¦they could keep the money for the root touch up and Skye could keep the full tip, I just didnāt want to have to repay for my hair to be redone. I even sent pictures of my clearly orange hair. The response was there would be no refund as their āpolicyā is to contact them within 7 days, and this was the 8th day. Dede offered for Skye to gloss my hair during work hours prior to my trip. Not only would a gloss not have fixed the problem, this would also require me to take more PTO, which I simply didnāt have availability to take, especially before vacation. I gave them multiple opportunities to make things right. This was an exception to their āruleā. No one wants to memorialize bad hair in vacation pictures.
Simply put, Hunter Paige boasts top quality and charges top dollar. The cost for my orange hair was $360 + $72 tip for a grand total of $432. This was for a full highlight and root touchup. If you charge these prices, I expect my hair to be perfect and more so, for it to be corrected in any way possible when I leave with orange hair.
Hunter Paige is not the place to spend your money. They made sure to keep my $432, but they permanently lost a customer and I can only hope this post gives potential new customers pause before spending their hard-earned money on a place charging outrageous amounts of money for subpar quality. Not to mention the additional damage to my hair having to be re-bleached days later.
Strongly encourage others to find a more quality place that cares about...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI paid $550 to get a color I didnāt ask for and then half of my hair fell out⦠and itās still falling out! I came in asking to be blonde & left less blonde than when I came in. The color was uneven throughout.
I went in again today and cried as my hairdresser suggested that maybe my hormones were the reason half of my hair was gone. As Iām sitting there in front of her crying and continuously pulling out clumps of hair every time I touch itā¦.. my compensation for losing most my hair was sample sizes of shampoo and conditioner & no acknowledgement that they completely destroyed my hair. I wish more than anything that Iād never heard of this salon. They nullified a decade of hair care in one visit.
This is not a personal attack. The girls were sweet and tried very hard to get it right⦠but at some point within my six hour appointment, they left something on a little too long or mixed something wrong and Iām just left to pay the price for it. I donāt know what else to do other than warn YOU from making the same mistake.
After working insanely hard to grow my hair long and thick, it was all for nothing after leaving this place. And theyāve yet to own up to the fact that I came in with THICK hair and I left them (and have now shown them) my continuously thinning hair! And unless my hormones went ballistic in the exact moment I sat in their chair, then it wasnāt my hormones⦠or any other excuse presented to me today. I cry every...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI called the first week of September to book an apt. for hair styling for my sister's wedding, which is October 5th. As everyone in the wedding industry is aware, time is ofĀ the essence on wedding days. Once I received confirmation I could be seen at noon, I made arrangementsĀ for my makeup, transportation, etc. Two weeks later, I receivedĀ a call from someone at Hunter Paige that "one of their stylist was in a wedding that day too" and could I come in at 9 a.m. so the person assigned to do my hair could tend to her coworker/bride. I said no, that was a bit too early since pictures weren't until 3. She asked if I could come in at 10 a.m. I said I would like to keep the noon appointment I made as I have already ironed out the schedule for the day. I was then basically told that noon wasn't going to work anymore. I am never one to do reviews; in fact, this is my first one. But receivingĀ that poor of treatment, not to mention the fact I had toĀ desperatelyĀ find someone to do my hair that can fit a certain time frame two weeks before a wedding, prompted my first negative review. I am still in shock at a total lack of customer service, planning...
