Went in to try and sell a collection of over 5k cards today. Many RC, several graded, autos, as well as some not so valuable cards also. The guy working there looked through the cards and asked what I wanted for them. I stated price and instantly received a snide what $200? $2? Thinking maybe he's just joking. After getting a a quick condescending "lesson in business" about overhead, labor, taxes, payroll etc and the time it takes to top load, price, etc... I get my lowball offer. I've been multi store retail management for 28 years so I'm well aware of how business works. Also being a former small business owner for 5 years I didn't need the lesson. I said no way to the offer and that I'll just try and sell them elsewhere that 3 cards alone are selling for what he's offering for the lot. (He then says I didn't know they were worth that much. Then says I have tons of that players rookie back here for $20 each... I told him if you do I'll take every single one right now. He grabs 2 and looks them up selling for 1 most recent comp on eBay for $42 and puts it away. I said I'll take them for the $20 you said they were. Then he says I never said that. So moral is. Don't be condescending to customers that come in. How on earth would someone running a shop not know players or prices of cards when that's what your business is? There's many other shops in Nashville and surrounding areas I would recommend.
IR: There were well over 2k baseball, around 1.5 k football and basketball and the rest hockey, marvel, etc... Not about the low ball offer so much it was the condescending attitude! Especially with my pricing being in mind at less than.40 cents per card
And yes he did say he had a bunch of Ovechkin RC for $20 it was the Upper Deck "Rookie Class"
And no you were the one shop I went to with this collection. Even in your review response your condescension is rearing it's head. Good luck and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe middle of last week - March 12th, while visiting family in the Nashville area, my wife and I visited - Dads Dugout Sports Cards and Collectibles - Located in Brentwood TN to see what they would offer us for my Baseball Card collection that I have had since my elementary school days in the 60ās and beyond!
Dad and his associate were very accommodating - each taking their time to look through my collection while still having a genuine conversation with us and educating us about market values and related info!
Their Sports Card Store is well maintained, exceptionally clean as well as bright and inviting and caters to young collectors as well older adults like my wife and I.
Additionally, my wife and I.were very impressed with their valuation of my collectionsā $$ value. We accepted their offer for my collection!
A Truly Awesome Experience!
If you are in the Brentwood TN area I highly recommend āDads Dugoutā or contact them online and FB!

Dadās Dugout is it a great place to hang out, buy cards, and talk ball. DD does have a smaller selection compared to NashCards, but a better shop environment, a great rewards program, and THEY ARE CHEAPER than NashCards!!
I started collecting sports cards about a year ago, and this store and the people managing it were a huge part of the reason.
I appreciate Dads Dugout, and highly recommend stopping by and giving them a shot.
First off, Welcome to the hobby skip. You need to realize now that you are never going to come out on top buying random packs. No matter the store or sport.
Secondly, go complain to Topps or Panini, not Dads Dugout. **
GIVE DADS DUGOUT A TRY AND YOU WONT BE UPSET....
