Do not buy any Guitars from this location, I was talked out of a sale for the guitar I wanted because the lady who worked there wanted me to see a guitar I'd never heard of. Maybe I should've done my research, but I was ripped off nearly 100 bucks. Luckily I was looking for a "cheap" guitar (not that I wanted to grossly overpay for it) and this guitar (Douglas Halo) will still see plenty of use. However, there is no excuse for wildly overpricing your merchandise to take advantage of those of us who aren't complete gear heads. I'm hesitant to even return to get the guitar set up. Also, I would've preferred the guitar I was looking at first. 200$ is more than the price of a NEW Douglas Halo, much less a used one. I may be at fault for being ripped off, but the fact they were trying to rip me off should make others wary enough to avoid this location at all costs, as far as purchasing musical equipment goes. I will likely give them one more chance in the future as they claim to be very good at setting up guitars and whatnot, but at best a good experience in that regard would only earn this establishment back one or two stars. Basically, guitar center is somehow...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped in this weekend because we drove by while in town visiting family. Yes, the place is cluttered with lots of merchandise, but to me that made it unique and exciting. We spent probably an hour searching thru the LPs (and truly did not even scratch the surface of what they had) and talking with the owner and his wife. Very nice people and will certainly stop in again when we are back in town. Bought 6 LPs and they appear to be in great condition. I was hoping to find the $1 bargains, but what I did find were fair prices, knowledgeable and personable owners, and a selection that I would never find at the bargain bins. It has been mentioned before that price tags would be nice and yes, they would, but I understand why they are not used (from a previous response to a review). I took a stack of 30 LPs to the counter and got an itemized list of prices so I could choose what I wanted. I was expecting a final number, you know the one where I cough and I say I can't do that... But was very surprised by the itemized list. Looking forward to our...
Read moreMy brothers and I went in just to check the place out and low and behold it was a massive mess. One of my two brothers was interested in a box of comics on the floor and asked for prices. The man at the counter, I presume the owner, proceeded to check ebay for each comic giving a high mint condition ebay price for each. Then he decided that he wouldn't sell them at all. I've never been to a store like this before, and I hope I don't again.
This place has potential though. If the owners put in the time to clean up the store, price their items, and not present sooo much stuff in such a confined space, perhaps they could become a much more enjoyable shopping experience. I do resale myself, but I use the ebay price as a reference point of what is the MAX price for the item. You just have to go under, if you can't then you are not getting a good deal when...
