Wow disrespectful and rude retail employees who will laugh in your face.
For a store greater that only makes 15 bucks an hour and likes to laugh at paying customers/Co-Op Members you sure know how to cower away Ms. when confronted about why my personal decision to not want to double mask is funny?? The same goes with your male coworker who wanted to join in on the laughs.
What’s even crazier is that I didn’t even make a fuss about the double mask mandate. I choose to willing and peacefully walk away when asked to put another mask on top of my buff face covering.
When said Female greeter asked me to put another mask on on top of my buff face covering that I already had on, I politely declined and decided to shop else where. Been here many times in the last 2wks and this was something new to me.
As I’m walking away (mind you I didn’t say a single word to either employee) the female greeter and a male sales associate want to laugh as I turn away. Now what’s so funny about me not wanting to double up on a mask???
Please I want to know and I hope the Sales Manager Brandon Priesont has an answer for me because I will be contacting corporate about this incident.
Crazy part is this isn’t the first time I’ve heard or seen employees here at this location laughing at or mocking customers behind their backs. I just didn’t think it’d happen to me.
I Will never spend another dollar at this location and will be contacting Raquel Karls directly and letting her know about this incident and others I’ve seen at this location.

Read moreAnnoying. Burbank is the closest location to me but I’ll be going to other locations now. Woodland Hills is cool. I’ve been a member for a couple years and have spent a lot of money here. I ordered items on a prepaid card that had enough funds, rei then reached out saying I needed to update my payment method, when I called customer service it was made to seem like I caused an issue when really, they were inconveniencing me, however, I was cool about it bc things happen. I gave them the same card and it went through. The items arrived late and I didn’t need them anymore. They were unused items. I went to Burbank to return them. I stood in line and watched two employees walk away from the counter as soon as they finished with their customers, leaving one employee and a line of 5 people. Another employee came up and bombarded me with questions - I simply have a return. The items were obviously unused and when they asked why I was returning, I said I didn’t need them. They asked about each of the three items, I repeated that I did not need them. They held back a laugh. Jesus. Um ok, dude, I thought. They said, “For the future, if you’re returning a used item, saying you no longer need them is not valid”. WOW. If I had used them, I’d actually have a reason. it was unnecessary and rude. Please don’t talk to customers like they’re dumb. I have returned unused items before and wasn’t even asked, but this employee wanted to go above and beyond about it. Look, it’s unused, I don’t want it I don’t need it. I’ve already been standing...
Read moreTaking a minute to address REI abuse policy regarding returns. We cannot return any items we purchase at REI. Why? 1. Because we returned two Dometic refrigerators whose compressors broke after 6 months of use. (the compressor issue is a known issue....they were $700 a pop and we could have returned to Dometic but REI said to return to the store). 2. We returned a North Face 4 person Wawona that we had up for ONE day and which wind and rain twisted when the entire tent was guyed out correctly- this tent absorbs so much water because of the half rain fly that we had to pull everything away from walls in the middle of the night. We have since seen people with same tent with sopping wet walls. 3. We returned a Kelty backroads shelter that was ripped when we received and continued to rip and split and peel its seams. (a friend ordered the same item and had same rips from the way the tent poles were wrapped) We will never trust the products that REI sells now because they continuously defer to retailers and remove honest reviews for big name brands. Watch what happens when a item has negative reviews. It will be taking down and reuploaded so the negtive reviews disappear. We will be sending all this information to the CA better business bureau etc and reporting REI for dishonest practices. Yes you get 10% back on a membership buy of their prices are marked up 10 to 20% over retailers how does this make sense. (as an FYI we never returned used shoes etc, just defective merchandise)...
