Lovers — Attraction in Burlington

I was humiliated by the male staff at this Burlington lovers location. The staff immediately stereotyped my partner and me based on our vehicle. (We drove our work van, which has character) From the moment we arrived they were grouped together staring out the window at us. There were other customers inside when this occurred. When we finally got the courage to go inside our feelings about the staff was confirmed. They did welcome us but then immediately asked us to leave our small purses with everything in them at the register. Am I to trust these judgemental employees with thousands of dollars, my bank cards, my ID, and other personal items? They told me if I do not then I am to leave the store immediately. I was appalled at this demand and extremely humiliated in front of other staff and customers. I was forced to leave. I frequently spend large amounts at this establishment for many years and never had an experience as I did this evening. Disappointed and embarrassed would be an understatement. THE WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! Never have I ever been treated sooo badly by someone working in a store. How do they stay in business with employees like these. From the second my sister in law and I walked in the store we were followed very closely by both the women in there working. They made a rude comment about my husband staying in the car. They were making comments to each other about how they had cameras in the parking lot and forcibly took items from my sis in law that she was wanting to come show me and told her it would give her more hands to shoplift with. Then when we were walking out because of how we were being treated they said "oh what nothing today?" And we told them no we were leaving because they were being so rude and she said "yeah and that's how you will be treated every time you come in here". Staff (Milo and I think it was Abbey) welcome and inform you of the products, their safety and general usage opportunities. I was by myself and did not feel anxious about viewing, testing, or discussing the many items I was interested in. The store is clean, designed well, has high quality and good selection of products, garments, and toys. Prices are comparable, but the sales make it very accessible to many incomes. The staff made it a point of telling me of additional savings that I was eligible for, and encouraged me to use my many purchase points for some enticing gifts. I wish there were more...
