Honestly, this place is great. I would say 80% of the consoles and games are actually cheaper than they would be online or anywhere else. This is hands down, the best place to get retro consoles. Everything works and they also clean the consoles so they look almost new most of the time. The game selection is great and there are constantly new items being traded to them, so there is always a new selection every visit.

It is locally owned and the staff is really kind, helpful, and there to ask any questions. While it is a used game shop, occasionally you will come across items that are cosmetically damaged and may not look the best in a retro collection, but usually the item works. In the store there is many TVs set up so if you question an items funcionality, feel free to try it! And if you end up with a broken item (I have a few times) a refund or trade in value is usually presented in full by the employee in a timely manner.

They don't rip you off either for trade-ins. They do offer lower than if you would sell it on ebay or craigslist, but they give fair value off of what they have to then resell. I would say they give you around 70%-80% of the item's actual worth, instead of an insulting value like some other game stores cough GameStop cough.

Overall, this place is a great place to go and I do take a trip out there frequently to see what's new. I have personally purchased a handfull of consoles and tons of games with little to no problems. I have been an advocate customer for this store for a long time now and i can definately say it has gone waaaaaaaay down in quality and quantity since ive been going. I used to go and get great deals from the owner garet(?) and now they have some bigger guy running the store and they never have anything new. Plus everytime i seem to go in with something i bought FROM THERE he will either dock me for some weird stain it has in a cartridge or something. Anything he can find to lower the price of trade in, he will find and dock you for even if it was there when you bought it from them?! Makes no sense to me. Ive even tried to trade a console back in because it was reading a few games and instead of offering me a trade in for a newer used one he offers to trade it back in for half or less the price i bought it for, basically forcing me to buy a new console. I have bought games from here thinking i could get them buffed somehwere else to get them to work and then they still end up not working. Why even put products on the shelves if you know they will get returned? It seems like this guy has a quota to meet and hes just doing everything and anything he can to meet it monthly. Its sad to say, but i will NEVER be going back to this store. Id rather spend 40 minutes driving to boise to go to VIP GAMESTORE. WELL WORTH THE DRIVE!! They are way more friendly and dont try to rip you off! Boo...

If you're looking for retro games in the Treasure Valley, this is the best store for that.

First off, let's look at their selection. They have a vast selection of old school video games. I've personally purchased three SNES games and three N64 games because they're ones I needed in my collection. There was nowhere else in the Valley that i could've found those games. Now, I'm not saying they always have what you'll want in stock, but i do know that they have some fairly popular titles pretty steadily stocked and then they do get some rare games in from time to time: like the Harvest Moon for the SNES.

They also have great prices. The prices I've seen there range from internet pricing to cheaper. When they did have a copy of Harvest Moon in there, they had it priced at $145. Online, that same game runs for at least $200 or more. This just showed they're very fair with their pricing, even on the rare stuff.

Lastly, the guys there like video games. They like what they do and their product. Because of this, they are very easy to talk to about games: which creates a good experience as a customer.
