The Rubaiyat Llc — Local services in Caldwell

I like the Rubaiyat. I've been a customer for the past nine years (2011 - Present) and I've never had any problems. The owner is very knowledgeable and a good person to just have a conversation with. I have found a few hard-to-get books over the years and the pricing is fair. This isn't a basement level flea market operation. In addition the Rubaiyat will take books and give credit. If you brought in books that the store doesn't need you can have the books returned to you (however it's on you to tell the business this) or the books will be donated to local charities. I like that because it means the books are being recycled and not contributing to the garbage at the local dump. The store isn't huge, but it's very tidy, clean and well organized. I decided to check this place out and play D&D with one of the groups that meets here last weekend...

This place is AMAZING. The shop is very comfortable, the people who frequent it are great, and the staff is beyond that.

They have some surprisingly amazing pieces hidden amongst the shelves, I wish it was a library so I could spend my afternoons there reading like I did in back in school. Instead I'll settle for adding amazing books to my collection and reading them at home with my dogs and a nice glass of whiskey, the atmosphere, community, and inclusiveness offered by the owners/operators of this store make that less of a win over the alternative than it sounds like.

The folks that own and run the Rubaiyat are pretty amazing, with great service and advice. There was a young man who helped me (I forget his name I am horrible with names) he specifically was great. I have to walk with a cane and had to sit on the floor to look at some of the books I was interested in. (Sitting on the floor was my choice) He proceeded to sit on the floor with me so that he could continue to help me, and point out books that would be useful, as well as just talk and make me feel comfortable. All in all a fantastic experience and I will continue to support the book store and the folks who wok here and own this local store. 10/10 would...
