really old crappy slowly detiorating station has not been updated for a good 10-15+ years its all still the same the only thing they did was take out the BK that used to be on the Platform level (before you get in the train gate) and replace it with a DD. its only good if you need the train and to park the buses here are limited and dont really go anywhere special mostly Arlington Lexington Burlington and parts Of Woburn if you need to go to boston the only way is the train there is no direct route the 83 / 77 only go as far as Central Square Cambridge/ Harvard the rest is all bus. becareful here at certain times its hang out for bums in the back and the upper parking levels i see them all the tine and watch out for all the pigeons here this station is loaded with them it has a HUGE gaping hole that is all rotted out in the ceiling which i doubt they will EVER fix. apart from that if you dont need to come here dont the only thing around to see is the fresh pond mall the only thing saving this place is that its near Rt 2 Mass ave Davis Porter and Harvard squares. and taffic here whether its on the train bus or rush hours SUCK so once you get in good luck getting out its always filled and congested with some...
Read moreI enjoyed the Easy to Navigate layout of the "Alewife" train station, also enjoy Shopping/Eating & Drinking at the different stores/dining options that are located Inside the actual station!
They have an Enclosed Bank of America ATM, Convenience Store, Lottery Store, Food Stand, and Dunkin' Donuts on site right inside the train station, all of these are located inside Alewife RedLine Train Station just before you get to the MBTA Ticket Machines and Entrance Ports where you provide payment to enter the actual train.
I have always found this particular train station to be very convenient, and to also have MBTA employees that seem to always be of great help whenever there's a customer that has an issue or if you are just simply short on cash and can't afford to pay the train fare/entrance fee for the trains.
This location is definitely not a bad stop, especially in comparison to the other...
