I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism and carelessness we experienced with Value City Furniture. My older parents ordered a full bedroom set and were excited to finally have it delivered—only for this company to completely drop the ball in every way imaginable.
First of all, they left HALF the furniture downstairs. Yes, downstairs. What kind of furniture company doesn’t deliver to the actual room inside the house, especially when the customers are older and clearly cannot lift or move heavy items on their own? There’s been a ton of furniture delivered upstairs, so there’s no reason they couldn’t make it up. Then, my father overhears the guys saying, “let’s ask them for cash to bring the items up.” ?!?!?! So they KNOW they can bring the items up, and are just refusing to. It’s outrageous and feels like my parents were completely taken advantage of. There was no courtesy, no care, and certainly no accountability.
To make matters worse, the headboard they delivered has LED lights built into it—which they cut during delivery. CUT. And they didn’t even bother to check whether the lights were working before rushing out the door. It’s unbelievable that this level of incompetence is acceptable from a company that claims to be a trusted name in furniture.
When we called customer service to try and get help, they were useless. Not only did they refuse to send different delivery people to actually complete the job, but they also offered zero real solutions and treated us like we were just another number. No urgency. No empathy. Just a flat-out refusal to make it right.
Save yourself the headache, frustration, and money. This company does not stand behind its products or service. We will never shop here again, and we’ll make sure everyone we know...
Read moreWe purchased 4 sectional couches. Let me tell you, these were not cheap. Skylar (Saleman) was helpful and answered all of our questions. Unfortunately this is where it ended. During the delivery our walls were damaged from the delivery service (Rapid Response). Before moving in the future we offered taking off the guardrails to give space in the hallway, or if needed we could put them in the garage since we were moving soon. They refused and proceed by damaging the walls and then asking me what to do. After the couches were moved, they left in a hurry leaving the sheet they use to file if there were or were not damages. After multiple phone calls for a month and a half, this still has not been resolved. I explained multiple times I would be moving at the end of May and would need this repaired by then. I have rarely had someone call me back and have had to reach out multiple times to Value City Canton, Value City Novi, and Rapid Response (moving company). The local owner of Rapid Response (Dameon) keeps saying he will provide an update, but as expected nothing happens. He has resorted to staying the delivery team took pictures of damages that were there previously but refuses to send pictures of this (Cause there are none). Time will tell if the couches will hold up or just as bad as they're service/support. This seems like a cash grab and them just waiting until I move so they don't have to paid for the damages they caused.
Update: They never fixed the damages...

I bought all the furniture for my house from this company, and it’s been a nightmare. A month and a half after placing the order—and just two days before the scheduled delivery—they suddenly called to say my bedroom was no longer available. I went in person hoping to sort it out, but they had no solution. Just, “It’s not available anymore.”
Then the chaos continued. They delivered my living room set but not the dining room—without any notice. After three phone calls, they said it would be delivered the following week. They confirmed the day before, so I took time off work to be home… and no one showed up. Called again—they rescheduled for another week. Same thing: confirmed the day before, and once again, no one came.
Today was the third time I waited for them. They finally showed up—but with the wrong dining table. Meanwhile, the family room furniture has been delayed multiple times, most recently pushed back by two more months.
Every time I try to get answers, I’m met with confusion and finger-pointing—especially blaming the Novi location. No one seems to know what’s going on.
If you’re thinking of buying from here—don’t. Save yourself the time, stress, and money. Go...
