I should start by saying that Clay Terrace is a nice area and has a lot of nice stores. My poor opinion of it comes from the staff that work there. I cant tell you how many times security has stopped because I was standing at my car smoking or in the lot on my phone. It gets a little annoying when you get treated like a suspect when you are just standing around on your phone by your car. The icing on the cake was that this morning I was in the back of the lot smoking before going into one of the businesses there, I usually stay in the back of the lot as to not disturb anyone with my smoking, when a man in a red truck labeled "Clay Terrace" pulled up behind my car as I got into it. I was a little thrown off at first cause it was strange he was blocking me in. He rolled down his window and starting yelling at me about something. He was making a bunch of hand gesture and pointing to a spot in the mulch at the edge of the parking lot that looked like it had been burned. I gather from the few words I could understand that he was accusing me of causing the burn in the mulch, which obviously had been made days before that moment. After shaking my head at him he took off in his truck. Needles to say I reported him to Clay Terrace for being so rude and blocking me in like that. All in all. Its a good place, but the staff there...
Read moreClay Terrace is an outdoor shopping center located in Carmel, IN. Clay Terrace was built as the Indpls area 2nd outdoor shopping center and was a joint venture between Lauth and Simon Property Group.
The mall is laid out in a long straight line with a couple buildings sprawling out to the left and right around the center. Clay Terrace Blvd is a road used by everyone that connects Rangeline Rd and 146th St - and is controlled by the City of Carmel. This means there is quite a bit of traffic diving through the center.
There is a good mix of shopping with your traditional retail stores (Old Navy, Sunglass Hut, Express) but they also have unique stores like Z Gallery and Orvis. There are also unique restaurants like Kona Grill and Mitchell's Fish Market.
I think the mall could use some updates as they have looked the same since they opened over 10 years ago to be able to complete with Hamilton Town Center and the newly renovated...
Read moreWhenever we drive up to carmel, I always go with my husband. Does he like to shop? Guns and trucks only lol. I always ask to stop here because I love the shops. Hubby waits in the jeep, while I go snooping around. I love the clothing stores, although a lot of these places have size 2-10. Not much of a choice for an average type woman. Stopped in at game stop and needed an hdmi cord, they had one in that was used, this is usually not my area, bought the cord brought it home and tried and tried to get the player to work. We looked closely at the cord and it had corrosion on the hookup. What a waste of time. I would like to try a few of the restaurants if we ever find the time to do that. All in all, I still enjoy walking around and seeing what...
