Read morePassengers BEWARE - Before heading to fly home we always look at airport reviews to know what to expect. Upon reading reviews for this airport, there are multiple saying they have expensive items that come missing out of their bags, so we were a bit worried but just put everything of value in our carry on as you're supposed to. When we go to board our carry ons were LITERALLY CONFISCATED FROM US. We were told they were going to be checked and they stated there wasn't enough room. We obviously weren't okay with this as we had valuable items and money in there and we didn't want that bag to be handled with checked baggage as for one, we can't see our stuff and second they are rough and things frequently end up broken. Upon boarding my husband was speaking to me, saying if any of his things were missing, or broken that he was going to try to sue delta for confiscating our carry on luggage for no good reason. One of the flight attendants standing at the front during the board must have been eavesdropping and said "good luck" with a snarky tone. And my husband replied that we were worried about our bags as they were not supposed to be checked, and had valuable items and money in them. The disregard concern. Wants making it on the plane we immediately get out our phones to start video taping because we were told there wasn't enough room for our carry-ons which is why they were being checked, yet there were multiple totally empty overhead bins, and it was very far from being full. After they saw us videotaping they changed their answer so that it was due to time and that the plane needed to leave. However they ended up kicking us off of our flight, rather than trying to affirm any of our concerns about our baggage that was being taken or anything. We had a layover and really needed our carry-ons. They didnt care. Don't fly DELTA AIRLINES HERE. THEY WILL JUST TAKE YOUR CARRY ONS WITH NO...
Read moreI recently visited Terminal D at San Juan Airport (SJU) and I must say that I was quite disappointed with the facilities. One of the major drawbacks was the absence of air conditioning in the D6-8 area. The lack of proper cooling made the waiting area uncomfortable, especially during the hotter months. It was quite surprising to see such a crucial amenity missing in a terminal.
Another issue that I encountered was the absence of water fountains in Terminal D. This was quite inconvenient, as travelers rely on water fountains to stay hydrated, especially during long layovers or delays. The lack of this basic facility made it difficult to access drinking water without having to purchase bottled water from the shops, which are closed early in the morning. The closest shop open was in terminal C .90 mile away from D8.
In addition, the pet relief area in Terminal D could use some improvements. It was apparent that the area was not well-maintained and lacked a proper door. This made it challenging for pet owners to ensure the safety and containment of their furry friends. A door would provide more security and privacy for pet owners and their pets.
Furthermore, Terminal D seemed to have insufficient seating for travelers. This was particularly noticeable during peak travel times when the terminal was crowded. It was quite challenging to find a seat, and many passengers were left standing or sitting on the floor. This lack of seating made waiting for flights uncomfortable and inconvenient.
Overall, my experience at Terminal D in San Juan Airport was less than satisfactory. The absence of air conditioning in certain areas, the lack of water fountains, the inadequate pet relief area, and the shortage of seating for travelers were significant drawbacks. I hope that the airport authorities address these issues to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers...
