I wouldn’t usually care enough about an airport “restaurant” if the food was half decent but I feel compelled to warn people about this place. I had the greasiest and rankest chips which I wasn’t able to finish as I started to feel sick. I had no time or willingness to confront the waiter about it before my flight so I ate a few and left. Speaking of the waiter; he was the reason for me to actually write a bad review as he was the most dismissive, inattentive and unkind (borderline rude) person I’ve had to deal with during my stay in beautiful Puerto Rico. He acted as if he did not want to be there and by extension, made me feel incredibly unwelcomed, had a terrible attitude from the moment I arrived to the hostess stand, to seating me, to me ordering and even paying the bill. I regret having left a tip now.
Every local, regardless of them being in the service industry or not have been the friendliest and loveliest people I have encountered in my many travels, so this being the last interaction I had with a Puertorican before leaving the island leaves a bad taste to what had been an incredible journey so far.
I can’t speak for the rest of the menu as my options were limited so the rest of the dishes may be great but I wouldn’t visit an establishment where I’m treated like this even if it had Michelin stars.
It was AFTER all of this happened that I saw all the other bad reviews so I guess I need to read up before choosing where to eat in the future.
Although I could identify the gentleman by name I have decided not to as I don’t want to potentially have a negative impact on the life of a person who may have just been having a bad day, but I doubt this is the case so I suggest the establishment to have a talk with all of their staff and give them an attitude...
Read moreWe decided to grab a quick bite at Land Shark, conveniently located within the airport. The ambiance was welcoming and, to our delight, we were seated promptly. Our server, Dariana, was a ray of sunshine - attentive and genuinely friendly, which set a pleasant tone for our meal.
We started with drinks, opting for a rum-based frozen concoction that initially impressed us with its delicious blend. To accompany our drinks, we chose chips with queso and salsa. While the chips were a hit or miss in terms of seasoning, the dips, unfortunately, didn’t live up to our expectations. The salsa was reminiscent of a standard jar variety, and the queso was notably thick and bland.
For our mains, my husband tried the mushroom burger. While the burger’s overall quality was decent, it lacked the essential burst of flavors one would expect; the meat seemed unseasoned, making it rather plain. The fries, however, were a redeeming feature. I went for the Jumbo Crispy Coconut Shrimp, which was a delight. Crusted perfectly with coconut and fried to a golden hue, the shrimp was the highlight of our meal. The fries accompanying it were equally delicious. A minor hiccup occurred with the dipping sauces, as they were out of both sweet pineapple and cocktail sauces, offering ranch instead.
We decided to round off with another round of drinks. Unfortunately, the second experience didn’t match the first. My repeat order felt runny and less flavorful, while the hubby’s new choice was also underwhelming.
While the prices seemed a tad high, we chalked it up to the airport location. Despite the culinary missteps, the excellent service made our experience worthwhile. We would consider returning to Land Shark, perhaps giving other menu items a chance, and hoping for a more consistent experience...
Read moreOur waiter was terrible and a thief. He charged the girls next to us $7 for the top of a hamburger bun without ever telling them it was extra. For ours we ordered two burgers (that the menus states comes with chips). He brought out fries with our burgers which isn’t what we ordered but figured it was an error. He never came back for us to tell him until he brought the check with charged us for two fries (an additional $8). I explained to him that I did not order those and proceeded to tell me that I needed to pay since the (completely untouched) fries were still on the table. I told him I absolutely wouldn’t be paying for those and he stormed off and came back with a check with $4 taken off, I again told him that I would not be paying for both fries as I did not order any. Again he argued with me and I told that I would not be paying for something I did not order. He took the check and subtracted another four in pen. We paid cash and he very dramatically gave us the four dollars back in change separate from the rest. He never gave us the chips that we actually ordered so I asked for a box for my leftovers (fries that I didn’t order) which he repeatedly refused. Fine. I put them in an empty dry water bottle. When we went to take a picture of the check for a review, he saw and hurriedly snatched the check back right from under us (literally). His name was Luis and this was on Monday 11-27-23 around 4pm. Unbelievable. You can tell that they are used to up charging unknowing travelers all day (as the table next to us got scammed too) and were just upset that they finally got caught and had a customer who wasn’t going to be...
