I wish I could give this store a good review. 2 stars only because the lady's checking us out who are always nice.
Unfortunately, we recently bought two $100 couch chairs. We took pictures of them before we left. I sent two men to pick them up. They put all the cushions to the chairs in the truck.
The staff at the store almost allowed them to drive off without a cushion....come to find out after they got at the house we realized the store forgot a main cushion. They never gave it to them.
We tried to call but their phone didnt work. My wife drives down there and the manager Deborah is immediately rude and defensive claiming all the pillows were given to the young men who came to get them and must have flew off the truck. My wife told her the men put ALL the cushions in the cab. NONE were in the back of the truck because back of truck is dirty. Both men who picked them up verified this.
This was not just a small pillow but a side cushion like on a couch. The manager was rude about it and quickly looked as she couldn't have made a mistake.
We explained we paid $100 for each chair and we were sold chairs that had all their cushions. The manager refused to look for it for more than a minute already arguingbit easnt back there. Management refused to take our word that we did not get it.
We said we need the cushion or a refund/return for 1 chair. Its useless without the cushion. She said "no refunds". BUT they sold us an item with 4 cusions and gave us 3! The chair is considered damaged since it cant ne used....their policy is refund on "Damaged" items damaged by the store. She refused claiming its not considered damaged. But it's a couch without a cushion!
We've been shopping here 10+ years. I am appalled at this lady being a manager in store that is a ministry operation without love and servitude. She does not reflect the Salvation Army I'd expect.
As a pastor and Christian I cannot believe they're so desperate for money for an item donated for free that they'd rip off people....no less other Christians. (Galatians 6:10)
We just threw away $100. I would say "Oh well its a donation to a ministry" but why would we want to donate to a ministry willing to steal...
Read moreI was denied a purchase because "the item did not have a price tag". They said they were going to send it back to the warehouse. I said, "Put whatever reasonable price on it please and I'll pay it. I'll pay the highest estimated value per your standards whatever it takes. They said "No, they're sending it back and that's that".
Knowing I had only one shot at this purchase because it was soon going to disappear I asked to speak with a manager. She said the same thing. I offered the highest price and she still said no. I felt I should speak with the general manager so I called him, Jerry, who never answered his phone and never called me back after 5 phone calls and 5 msgs to him. NOTHING!
When you go to Salvation Army your on the hunt for a good purchase and when you find you feel this exhilarated, happy feeling! Then they turn around and what was donated to them for FREE is being denied to me as a customer. How does this make sense?? Why such a policy? How about when you fail to put the pricetag on your items in your store the person has the opportunity to purchase it for a little higher price then standards OR you give it to them for FREE exactly the way you got it!!! VERY...
Read moreHorrible. I appreciate that they come all the way out to pick up items that would cost us a lot of trips since we didn't have a U-Haul, but when they got to our house they looked at the back of a couch that we wanted to donate (out of the two we were going to give them) and the chair and said no since there were "small white tears on the BACK of the couch". They then proceeded to go to our office to help my husband pull out the other couch we wanted to donate and they scratched the walls and door, pulled the couch half-way through the doorway and then left it there. Grabbed the boxed items that we wanted to donate, loaded it on the truck and stuck their head in to say "Sorry!" and drove off. Left my husband with a couch stuck in the doorway to the office and with us having the other couch and recliner still in our house. We have a new couch set coming in on Wednesday. Thanks! Sorry it's a used couch, but it's better than nothing for some people!
Never going to use these people for...
