Extremely disappointed this evening. I was celebrating a friend's birthday and they wanted to see the 7pm showing of Amateur. Everything was fine at first. I purchased two tickets and a medium popcorn for $42.64 and headed to the concession counter. Once there, I explained I had ordered a medium popcorn and gave her my ticket. She kind of just stared at me and ask her coworker if they accepted those. The other coworker explained that, yes, it's something new, and she told her to grab me a medium popcorn. When she handed me the medium popcorn, the bag wasn't completely open at the bottom and when she set it on the counter, it fell over. I grabbed the bag readjusted the opening, tapped the bottom a few times, helped clean up the mess and asked and she could top off my bag as I did just pay $10.99 for cold, stale popcorn. She seemed irritated by such a request but did so. Moving on, we got to our seats in theater 2. As soon as we walked in, there was a feces smell that permeated throughout. We sat down and tried to deal with it but things continued to get worse. I wanted to set my popcorn down and could see that the area wasn't cleaned prior to the seven o'clock, showing. Again, I was like whatever, but then when I wanted to set my popcorn down on the table, you could clearly see that there was sticky residue from someone else's drink and popcorn crumbs. At that point I couldn't even try and enjoy the movie while being surrounded by filth, a fecal smell and cold popcorn. We decided to get up and leave before the previews started. My friend wanted to get a refund. We then waited and spoke with a gentleman named Gavin. He seemed nice enough but was kind of passive. He wanted to check out the scene for himself. He went in with the pin light and saw the dirty area in seats 5/6 but didn't confirm or deny the smell at first. When he got back to the service counter however, he did state that yes there was a smell. While he couldn't refund me my money he did state, he could give us free movie passes for future use due to our experience. However, please note they weren't free I just spent $42.64 on my debit card and he wouldn't give me a refund.
I'm just extremely disappointed with the entire process. I wasn't looking for anything free. It's just disappointing to see some of these amazing reviews.Only for my experience to be the complete opposite in less than 11 minutes. On top of that, I have to go back at a later date which is extremely infuriating because I feel Regal cheated me out of my money...
Read moreWhy all the poor reviews. This is a terrific movie theater. I've been to all the other theaters in the Denver/Metro area and none of them compare to this one in terms of your movie experience.
The theater is almost never packed which means you can typically get a great spot. All of the theaters have amazing leather reclining chairs. They are huge!!! and extremely comfortable. The sound is also way above average when compared to other theaters in the area. If you're looking for some adult beverages, there is a bar upstairs with reasonable prices which you can bring into the movie.
Now, I can get the below par reviews on food. Regal cinemas are not known for restaurant quality service. If you want that experience during the movie, go to Alamo Draft House. But expect that to be packed and a 50/50 chance of getting good reclining seats.
Why I prefer SouthGlenn is because you can show up an hour early and there are 5-6 awesome restaurants directly outside the theater! Usually you can get happy hour at Bar Louie directly in front, then roll in full and happy while getting a beer or bottle of wine inside the theater to enjoy during the film.
This is my favorite theater. Honestly, why is everyone upset at not having restaurant quality food/service provided during the movie. It's a theater! Get some food before the movie like you've done since you were a kid. If your still hungry, there's popcorn, snacks, and...
Read moreNice movie theater. All new technology utilizing the newest advances in filmography. The seats are almost all reclining, and the theater is laid out in stadium seating. Except for the front rows (which has always been the case) the view is excellent from almost any spot. Going back to the seats, besides reclining nearly fully horizontal, they are cushioned and comfortable. The theater shows mostly new and popular hits, so this is not the place if you are looking for indie/underground films. You can order seating in advance and choose the exact seat(s) for yourself and/or family that you want to sit in. The earlier you do this the more likely you will get the seats you prefer. Otherwise, the theater provides the normal amenities food-wise of other theaters: Popcorn, drinks, candy, etc. The one downside is that they have those machines that dispense 100+ different types of sodas, rather than machines dedicated to about 6-8. You get a higher selection of course, but they dont taste as good as the normal, simple dispensers. Lastly, parking directly in front of the theater is nil, so if you are running late, you might drop off a family member to buy tickets, while you find a place to park (it should not be more than a couple blocks away, and if lucky,...
