Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa — Attraction in Chanhassen

I received a gift card to hand and stone in chanhassen, and was very excited to book my 90 minute massage, plus hot stone add on. I called to set up a time to come in, and the lady on the phone was very nice. I asked her who she would see, and that my back can be a bit of a challenge, and she recommended I see Trisha. The day of my appointment came, and I arrived 10 minutes early. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. As I waited, she offered me water, I went to the bathroom, and she showed me a book of all their services. My appointment was at 730, but I wasn't taken back until 740. Not a huge deal, I know things happen. Trisha was nice but didn't say anything to me about the button under the table (which the receptionist told me about and how my therapist would show me what she was talking about) that was there for me to hit if I needed anything. Which again, not a huge deal, people forget. She asked what i do for work and other normal question. Asked me if I wanted to upgrade to deep tissue, which I declined and she immediately said oh yeah, good idea. That interaction was a little weird. Just felt like she was trying to get me to upgrade more for no reason. She left so I could get undressed, so by the time we started the massage, it was almost 8. She began the massage and we talked a for the first 20 minutes about how long she'd been working there and whatnot. I had told her medium to firm pressure, and honestly, it felt like a child gave me the massage. There was barely any pressure and she was all over the place. Occasionally she'd apply pressure and I was thinking, oh okay, now she's familiar with my muscles and where I'm tense, she'll get better. I was wrong. This continued the entire time. Idk if she was tired, or incapable. Long story short, I left no more relaxed than I came in. She was friendly and I should have said something while I was there, but I just kept hoping it would improve. 8:57 is what the clock read when I got up. So my 90 minutes massage only ended up being an hour. I proceed to the desk, where the very nice receptionist asked if I was all relaxed. I responded with a very slow and dull, "yeahhh...". I was told my gift card would cover the massage and gratuity completely, which it did, but I didn't feel much like leaving gratuity after that. I really wish I would have said something at that point, but it was 9, and I didn't want to cause an issue while the employees were probably trying to go home for the night. I'm extremely disappointed the service that provided to me. The facility and receptionist were great, but the massage itself was the worst I've ever had. It was only 60 minutes when I paid for 90, and she was just not good. At all. I would not recommend this place, or at least not the therapist I saw.

After reaching out to me, I decided to give hand and stone another go. This time was very good. I was paired with Avette this time, and she was just what I needed. Im glad hand and stone offered me another massage to make my previous experience right. Props to them and their customer service. I would definitely go back to...
