We were traveling distances from Toronto Florida to Toronto's and were stopping at hotels along the way. My husband found this hotel through a third party and it had great reviews, we ended up booking a hotel he night. We arrived at 330 am and were questioning our decision immediately. There was a drunkard outside as well as a few people smoking weed. We got our room and it was dirty! There was tomatoes on the floor, stains on the wall, the couch. The pull out couch had a stain with mold. Lowell changed our room and the second room was just as nasty. I put my bag down by the counter sink and was hit on the head with a piece of trim that was secured by double sided tape. I went downstairs to mention this to Lowell and he advised that the manager would be in at 8 am. We were all exhausted from our extensive drive, including our toddlers and so we slept a few hours. In the morning, I shared all of this with the assistant manager who offered a courtesy of 25%. Upon leaving, me mentioned this to the manager and she offered to top off the discount to 50%. There was another guest behind me who was complaining about the mold in their room. This is not a family friendly hotel. Guests freely smoke weed and cigarettes in their room. The rooms are dated which is not an issue, it's the cleanliness that concerns me. There were parties on our floor and people running in and out of rooms with alcoholic beverages and weed. The breakfast was the only bonus. One of the staff (In baseball cap) was kind enough to bring bananas from the he sister property. Thank you! The assistant manager looked stressed as I am sure he would be. Clearly ownership does no care about this property or the safety of the guests. Do not stay here.

"Hunger Games Stay." Do you like tiny square pillows? How about dirty bathrooms? Kindergarten bagged lunches? The rooms are small and outdated. USB outlets were not functioning. Carpets were dirty. The "free breakfast bar" consisted of a brown paper sack with a warm bottle of water, 1 small orange, 1 smushed up kids cereal bar and 1 corn dog that requires you to heat it up on a microwave safe paper plate that they don't provide. (Side note. I'm personally allergic to chocolate and all the cereal bar options were chocolate flavor. So I got a fabulous miniature citrus fruit, a warm bottle of water and a subpar coffee for breakfast.) I asked if they at least had milk for my toddler but nope, the lady said that they aren't buying milk right now for the customers. (!?!?) Seriously. You can't stock .25 cent milk cartons?? It was basically a "Hunger Games" ration. Would not have stayed here if we knew this was the case. Positives? The linens were clean and the beds themselves were soft. Basically culture shock because last night we stayed at a different hotel and actually were provided real "free" breakfast. Fyi, we all know "free ain't free" and it's rolled into the room price. If you ain't gonna have an actual breakfast, maybe lower your rates.

We reserved a king with a pull out couch. We booked last minute so we didn't have many choices. The room smelled like pickles and when we turned the heat on the smell grew stronger. We had to choose between a yucky burnt pickle smell or being cold. The leather sofa sleeper was half leather -half miss matched cloth and not clean. something was splattered along the bottom (pictures provided but not the best). Behind the trash can in the bathroom on the wall in the bathroom was a yellow splatter. I think if I had brought some chlorox wipes and some air freshener with I would have enjoyed our stay a little more. The king bed was comfortable enough but the pull out couch was not comfortable. A mattress protector or sheets were not provided for the pull out bed. We were too tired to wait for someone to bring them. Luckily, we brought our own blankets and pillows. The gym was nice but wipes or cleaning supplies were not available to clean after use -I was not prepared to bring wipes of my own, so I skipped it. It was easy to book on price line, but we payed too much. The staff were friendly enough. There is a nice breakfast. I am sure they are doing the best they can with the world being short staffed.

When we 1st came here they greeted us with a smile, we got our room it was clean. We left Sarah the manager was nice and so we gave a 5 star review. Wooh lord. We liked the hotel so we decided to stay here until our house was ready but after staying here longer we started to see their true colors. Wow. Total 360. We felt like we were in school or a boarding house. The assistant managmust be going through something personal in her life as she takes it out on the customer. I saw her in atleast 3 altercations while there. She doesn't handle things the professional way. Its in her attitude knowing she is wrong her way of showing you who is boss is by banning you and asking you not to return. One young lady was asking for her deposit back after about an hour the young lady started to get impatient. As anyone would have. The assistant manager moved even slower as to say you are going to wait even longer if you want to be impatient bit wouldn't you get impatient if you waited an hour for your deposit for no legitimate reason? She finally gave it to her and asked her not to come back. One night my boyfriend went out the door that was supposed to be blocked off but other people had been going out of it prior so he went out it. She seen him and when she seen me she said if he went out that door again we would be banned. The longer we stayed it was impossible to not feel the bad vibe towards us. I can't take away from the fact the rooms are clean. For now with the people they attract for whatever reason and with the way management is running the hotel it will start getting dirty and raggedy soon. Me and my boyfriend just drove past today and saw where it looks as if someone ran their entire car into the building at the end of the building bursting the window and the side of the building is now caved in. I feel sorry for the owners of this beautiful build it won't be be beautiful too much longer. I wouldn't be surprised if they talked to someone any kind of way and they probably got so upset at them and drove their car into the building on purpose. Im just trying to put the pieces together. We did nothing wrong here and neither did alot of other people who got banned people have lives and don't have time for management simply banning people because they don't like to be confronted when they are wrong or simply because they don't like someone. Its unprofessional and bad...

TL;DR: great room, poor breakfast.

Easy check-in (we walked in without a res late at night), the young man at the front desk was friendly and delightful.

Pristinely clean (kudos to the housekeeping staff); clean enough to walk on carpet barefoot. Bathroom is your typical low-ceiling space, hastily renovated by slapping waterline-high, solid stone-colored panels on shower walls, held together by a half-inch wide, sloppy caulk job - not fancy, but fresh and pleasant. And sparkling clean.

They still use spring mattresses (so you can feel your partner's every turn), not very thick, and barely any padded layer on top of the springs. We've only slept on foam or air for years, so it was a rude awakening. The mattress also has a fair amount of give - we slept fine, but could be too soft for someone with a bad back. Sheets bright-white and fresh.

Room very quiet - no sound at all from outside or from any neighbors (even though it was almost fully booked and we heard people enter neighboring rooms). Perfectly black-out curtains, and a nice view on some trees and nature. Yes, oddly dim LED lighting in the sitting area (we received a suite) but not a big deal.

AC was on in the room even though it was late October, but it warmed up fast enough after we switched to heat - a bit of burning smell as the unit turned over to heat, but it passed quickly, nothing to get excited about if you're in this situation.

Surprisingly good coffee in the room and common area. But sadly, breakfast was indeed very bad - I never believed it's possible until this stay. The scrambled eggs were truly gross - not only made from powder, but further cut with flour or starch. I actually couldn't finish and threw them in trash, for the first time in my life! The waffle machine was broken, and instead of making up for it with some pastries, they had a single variety of mini-muffins and no other baked goods.

But all in all, incredible catch, considering the very reasonable price and the horrifying reviews for virtually everything else around Charlotte under $$$$. Would definitely stay again, and probably the only place I would stay if I ever had to...

My bf and I booked this hotel as a central spot between house shopping and a race we running in the Charlotte area. Upon arrival, it was clear that this hotel is primarily used by construction workers who come to town for the week and go home on the weekends. The parking lot was filled with large pickup trucks and vans and the parking spaces at this hotel were not large enough for these vehicles. There were also a lot of men just hanging around the property smoking various things and carrying on. It was well after 10 pm on a Wednesday when we arrived. Our hallway STUNK of cigarette smoke despite being a smoke-free hotel. The room was mostly fine, but the bathroom was awful. The stopper for the tub didn't work so they took out the one that presses down and left us with an old school rubber one on a chain. The tub took FOREVER to fill even half way. So much for those post-race Epsom salt baths we wanted. The rod holding the shower curtain was partially hanging out of the wall and because it was a curved shower rod, the curtain would fall towards the middle of the rod. We ended up using wash cloths to tie the shower curtain back so it stayed in place while we showered. There was mold around the sink. Our first morning in the hotel we went down for breakfast and were SHOCKED at how little there was available. If you didn't want cereal or a waffle you were pretty much out of luck. There were 2 lonely yogurts in the fridge. Someone did eventually put a few more in there and bring out more bread for toast, but this is by far the worst hotel breakfast I've ever seen. The coffee was also basically undrinkable. Part of why we booked this hotel was to save money on breakfast, but that was the only morning we bothered trying to eat there so so much for those savings. The fridge in our room was SO COLD that everything we put in there basically froze and there was no way to change the temperature. I used to stay at Country Inn & Suites all the time, but this one has me thinking the brand has gone downhill. I will definitely be reading reviews before I book...
