Honest Restaurant Review
We were excited to eat at Honest when we found out it opened in Charlotte. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed in the service. The food was great, as it always is at any Honest location. We got there on Good Friday at 7:10pm. Before sitting down, we asked how long it would be for a basic order of fries for our 2 year old son. They told us they were busy but, the fries will come out in a few minutes especially because it’s for a kid. They told us the rest of our order will take ~30 minutes. We were okay with that and we understood knowing how busy they are and knowing it’s a newly opened place. Therefore, we sat down. We ordered fries, dhosa, samosa chaat and chili paneer. Within 10 mins, we received the dhosa and samosa chaat. We asked about the fries but they still didn’t arrive. At this point, our son was getting pretty hungry. We tried to give him our food but he did not want it. I asked again about the fries to someone else, they said they will check on it. By now, 20-25 mins had gone by and still, no fries. Now, our son was very hungry. We had to give him snacks like cookies and cheezits. I continued to ask every waiter that walked by for fries. I asked a total of 7 waiters. Every single one of them said it will come soon. By now, it had been 45 mins! All other items we ordered had come out but not the simple quick order of fries that we were promised will be out in a few minutes. We spoke to 2 people who said they were managers (one was named Bunty). At this point, I was extremely annoyed and angry that my son had to eat snacks for dinner because it took over 45 mins to get a simple order of fries. The staff was very apologetic and said sorry a million times. They explained how it’s a newly opened restaurant and everyone is still learning. I explained that I understood that and if it was my food, I wouldn’t mind. But it’s a simple order of fries for a 2 year old, it shouldn’t take 45 mins and I shouldn’t have to ask 7 people. We completely understand it takes time and experience for a new business to run efficiently. Everyone was understanding and nice and said sorry. They realized and admitted to the problem. Unfortunately, in my mind, it shouldn’t take 45 mins and 7 waiters to bring out fries. End of story. They did remove the fries off the order and gave a juice box. Attaching a photo of what my son ate whilst waiting over...
Read moreAbsolutely the Best Indian Vegetarian Food in Charlotte! If you're looking for the best Indian vegetarian food in the Charlotte area, look no further than Honest Indian Vegetarian Restaurant. I've dined in several times and also used their catering services — every single time has been an outstanding experience.
Let me start with some of my favorite dishes. The Paneer Butter Masala is absolutely the best I’ve had in the city — rich, creamy, with perfectly cooked paneer that melts in your mouth. Their Pav Bhaji is another standout dish, flavorful and authentic. I would rate their Chole Bhature as second-best in the area, which is still saying a lot given the competition.
But what completely blew me away was the Veg Manchurian. It’s simply mind-blowing — crispy yet saucy, with just the right kick of spice. One of the best Indo-Chinese dishes I’ve ever had!
We also recently used Honest for catering a large family event. We ordered 11 different items, and while one dish didn’t initially meet our expectations, the response from the team, especially Parth, was exceptional. He handled the situation promptly and professionally, making sure our event went smoothly. That kind of service speaks volumes about how much they care about customer satisfaction.
On top of all this, I'm eagerly waiting for them to introduce more regional delicacies like Kathiyawadi and Rajasthani dishes — I’m sure they’ll do justice to these traditional flavors as well.
All in all, Honest is a gem of a place for vegetarian Indian food lovers in Charlotte. Highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic flavors, great service, and a consistently memorable...

Our first visit to Honest Restaurant in Charlotte was a largely positive one, offering a great array of vegetarian options.
The Chhole Baturey truly stood out as the highlight – easily the best I've had in Charlotte so far, with perfectly authentic bread and flavorful chhole. The Rava Onion Masala Dosa was good, but I felt the amount of masala could have been more generous to match its price and size.
Unfortunately, the Gobi Manchurian Dry was a bit of a miss; it was overly saucy and the cauliflower was chewy. On a brighter note, the Mango Falooda was refreshing and enjoyable.
We did have a slight hiccup with the Veg Hakka Noodles, which arrived with chili flakes despite our request for low spice. However, the staff was quick to rectify this, and the replacement noodles were delicious.
Service was excellent throughout our meal. Our server was attentive and helpful. The restaurant also boasts a good, airy ambiance.
My only minor gripe would be the pacing of the dishes. It would be ideal for appetizers to be served as the first course.
Overall, it was a good experience with plenty of delicious vegetarian choices. We'll definitely be back to explore more...
