Itās been a while since we have been to the mall, it was my Valentineās Day treat for us to do together! No kids and getting out and about together, and the amount of people looked like was going to be overwhelming and it was not! The food court was a bit much, and not nearly enough tables to people to sit, and the ones that are left seat two , and families have 5 + people. We ate at Charlieās ( was one of our favorite places to eat when we would go out to the mall when we lived way up North) so itās nice having one here! And they still do great Buffalo chicken sub, as well as their cheesy fries! As for the stores as a whole , some of the stores had people who greeted us, but most of them didnāt say a word, on phones or just starring off into space we walked right infront of most of them and not a word. That just made us not as interested in shopping in that store , if you have no interest in helping us⦠we were looking for shoes for my husband⦠so that gives a better idea of the stores we started in . And the ones that did , didnāt have the size 12 in stock for Jordanās. And we didnāt find anything for Pumas, so we struck out twice. We went into Victoria secret and had good deals , 7 undies for 35 and 5 dollars for perfume ⦠to me all the kinds left didnāt smell very good and I donāt wanna smell like a floor cleaneršš¤¦āāļø it smells good but not good enough to wearš¤·āāļø no one helped us in there either. It was a busy place ⦠nice that the fitting rooms are finally back open. And eww the āperiod undies ā ladies really?? They look terrible, and the whole idea is way to much for me . Yuck. To each is own , I guess. The build a bear š» was super cute all the new ones out! Well worth checking out with your kids . The escolarās on one end were broke so that was not good with my legs , it was walk up them or walk back to the other end and go up the stairs, we walked up them, and it was not fun. š¤¦āāļøbut anyways the mall was clean , just didnāt seem to have a ton in the stores. My favorite thing we stopped at in the 3d puzzles! They said they float in the middle of the mall all over( never seen them before) but they are moving to a store. The puzzles all move with no screws, only rubber bands. There are so many cool one we got to see first hand them working! Oh I so want a big grandfather clock one! Itās something everyone should check out! And they have puzzles that are for ages 4 and up⦠getting harder as you go up⦠so cool! We canāt wait to do one! The lady was absolutely amazing and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen this mall opened in 1987, I was a bright eyed 17yr old excited by the prospect of what was being termed then as "Tennessee's Biggest Mall". If only knew then what I know now, right? Isn't that how the cliche' goes? Well it's true and I wish I could have seen the way Hamilton Place would change East Brainerd for the worse these past 3 decades. I have lived in this area for all of my life and it has gone from being a quiet, semi-rural area, where we could look for the Big Dipper in the sky at night, to there being enough ambient light from the mall monster to be able to read a book by in my yard at midnight. The traffic is another story altogether. 25 years ago I could make 5-6 miles in approx 6-7mins. Now to go that same distance anywhere in the 37421 it takes every bit of 25 mins. The noise, the traffic, the litter, omigosh-the litter! The increase in crime of all sorts. The increase in unwanted population. The increase in Section 8 housing next to genteel upper mid-class subdivisions. The wholesale destruction of greenspace and old growth forest..... all due to Hamilton Place. This whole Gunbarrel Road clusterf--k even affects our weather patterns. No kidding. Google 'heat islands" if you are skeptical. This mall is a curse. A curse on the peace and quiet of East Brainerd that has only gotten worse lo these past 30yrs. Criminal acts unthinkable in 1986 are now an all too common occurrence at Hamilton Place and its surrounding environs. (Which the Mall routinely hides from the public). To put it plainly, Hamilton Place sucks and a large portion of the population whose daily lives are affected negatively by it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMalls are dying nationwide. I go to this mall for JCPENNEY-only. I worked at JCPENNEY in another city while in college. It was a great experience "back then." I go to JCPENNEY at Hamilton Place Mall for my hair. My stylist is fantastic for clients like me; with naturally curly hair...which most people do not understand how to cut, color, nor style. Hamilton Place Mall is currently under construction in some zones. I find the outside of the mall, as with most malls, to be outdated. Dave and Busters (Chuck-E-Cheese For Adults) is going in, presently. I lived in Dallas, so this mall seems small and outdated to me as a casual observer. The strip malls which surround Hamilton Place Mall seem to be doing bigger business. I remain underwhelmed; since most of my shopping needs are achieved through Amazon. However, if super-giant malls are overwhelming, you might feel okay when shopping at Hamilton Place Mall. It has the usual and expected stores, and if you prefer to touch items you purchase or try them on rather than ordering from a one inch square picture from online...this mall is for you. I just think malls might have to re-invent themselves to stay alive! It is actually kind of sad to see them all disappear!!! ...
