I've been to Red Robins countless times, and while the quality of their service appears to be in decline across the board, the Chattanooga location was definitely the worst restaurant experience I have had in a long time. First of all, they are incredibly stingy with their mediocre fries, dipping sauce, and drinks (which are supposed to be "bottomless"). We were denied "bottomless" fries until they brought out our cold burgers about 30 minutes after ordering them. Meanwhile we were given one overpriced strawberry-lemonade (almost $5), which was not that good and served up in a cup about 3/4 ice); these were also supposed to be "bottomless", yet we practically had to beg for a refill after sitting there with empty cups for almost 20 minutes, while we waited for our cold overpriced burgers. I get it...they save on a refill or two by keeping their customers sitting around hungry and thirsty until they bring out their burgers (that way they get filled up at the same time). But if their going to be cheap and stingy, then they should stop advertising it as bottomless. Mexican restaurants don't act stingy with their chips and salsa, nor does Olive Garden with it's salad and bread. My family actually spends more on these burgers and fries, then we do at those other restaurants. If they are going to charge $15 for a burger, and roughly $20 a meal per person (before tip), the least they could do is not act like cheapskates about their fries and drinks. The talked a bunch of family members into going for the first time (to eat "gourmet" burgers), yet no one was impressed by either the food or the service. The waitress had a rude and entitled attitude, and the manager had the nerve to come by and ask us if we were good at the end of our meal, as though we hadn't sat their hungry and thirsty for about 40 minutes prior to the food coming. I will never return to the Chattanooga location again. And I might never return to Red Robins period; which is a shame, because we have been going very regularly for many years. I'm tired to...
Read moreThis rating is only for the bad experience we had at the Gunbarrel Rd location in Chattanooga. I've been to a bunch of other Red Robin locations with great service, this was definitely by far the worst. Originally the server wasn't great, but it was busy and we were willing to give her the benefit of the doubt. It took almost fifteen minutes for her to make it to our table, once she did make it to the floor she got our entire order, it wasn't complicated, two drinks, an appetizer, and two burgers. The drinks were a lot longer to come out as she had to correct an order she messed up, these things happen, I can overlook it. The appetizer was probably the best part of the entire experience, it made it out in the expected timeframe, it was right. Drink refills were pretty slow at first, but it was a little busy, we're still okay. Then a different server brings out our food. One of the burgers is chicken, neither of us ordered chicken. The other burger was fine, until it took a ten minute tour around the restaurant and eventually came back to me, cold. I've never actually had cold onion rings before, but I will tell you, they're terrible. My burger was only slightly warmer at that point. Besides the cold food, the part that bothered us most was where our server came back and made excuses for the screw up and blamed the kitchen for the mistake. The other server that brought our food read what she was trying to give us from the ticket, this obviously wasn't a kitchen error, our server put in the order wrong to start with. She also spent half her time fixing orders for her other tables around us. We are forgiving people if you make a mistake, we are less forgiving if you just straight up lie to try and cover yourself. The manager brought out our corrected food and just dropped it on the table and left, the free sodas he took off the bill didn't really help anything, and the our server changed the tv channel we were watching, but the Red Sox lost anyway, so I guess it didn't...
Read moreTonight we took advantage of the BOGO tavern burger deal and arrived at the restaurant at just after 6 pm. We were seated immediately and there were several people seated nearby. Some had food and some were waiting. The hostess asked if we needed boosters or highchairs, but did not bring kids menus. I had to go back to the entrance to get them. The server came by and took our drink order and brought them back fairly quick and took our order. Then the wait began... One set of drink refills , then another. My oldest son suffered with an empty drink for 30 minutes, and the six year old began asking for a phone that had the ability to call a manager. Our server was at the table next to us and a very sweet lady there asked the server to bring us fries since the kids were obviously starving. Their food came out at around 650pm. Turns out, they had been there since 530. A couple of orders of fries came out at around 705 and or food finally came out at 715. It was not really worth waiting for. All of our hamburger buns were dry and crumbly. The fries we got earlier were better than what came out with the burgers. No manager ever came out to apologise or explain the shortcomings, but we were offered a 20% discount. The only saving grace was the super nice lady sitting next to us that had the opportunity to talk to the server and convince her to try to make it better. Doubt we...
