Food is incredible. But unfortunately I had an unpleasant experience, in terms of the service that I received. Went to Super Day, for the sole purpose of hitting up Ranch Eats. I had just got off of a 30-day humdinger of a diet. And was craving more than anything one of their Philly Cheesesteaks. So, I drove to the packed event, looked for a parking spot, walked several blocks [with my 3-year-old] to get there. Got my son a little treat first to keep him happy. Ended up with a few things in my hands. Next thing I know the wind (which didn't allow me to set anything down lest it blow away), his ice cream making a mess, and his pants falling down every two seconds all became in issue quickly. It was a nightmare. But it was all worth it, because I was going Ranch Eats! Finally get there, end up standing there for 5 minutes (which can feel like an eternity when you have a 3-year-old with you that wants to wander off every 8 seconds) before someone looks at me and rudely says, "Are you waiting for something?"... I thought, Umm, it's a food truck, what do you think I'm waiting for? And then I said, "Yes, I would just like to order some food." Then he says, "We're closed for 30 minutes." And then walks away. No apology. No explanation. And no sign, which I looked for, because I couldn't help but wonder why he was talking to me like that, like I was supposed to know. Anyway, if that wasn't bad enough, after he told me we they were closed for 30 minutes, I went to go sit down on the benches, and low and behold other customers approached within 5-10 minutes and were helped. Suffice it to say, I was very disappointed. Still think it's great food. But that's the first time I've ever experienced something like that at Ranch Eats. Hopefully it was just a fill-in working that day. Update Ranch Eats apparently doesn't care. That's...
Read moreI have a new best friend, Troy, the co-owner (with his wife, Mikaela) of Ranch Eats! I called him to cater a "last minute" birthday party for my little sis who was visiting with her big family for CFD to celebrate her milestone 60th birthday (uh, sorry, I meant 29th)! Troy and his team delivered big time in terms of their very effective and professional help to make it all happen and the food was a show stopper. We had BBQ Pulled Pork, Chipotle BBQ Brisket, Hatch Green Chili Mac & Cheese, Coleslaw, and Au Gratin Potatoes together with a farmhouse garden salad and carrot cake and Red Velvet Cake for dessert. The food was really delicious (everyone kept telling me over and over again how good it was) and Todd, the head chef, and his helper set everything up and took everything down and, in between, helped everything go very, very smoothly. In the end, I told both Troy and Todd I was going to write a review - one of my firsts - because they were just that good; both to work with and the food! Also, it was very reasonably priced and worth EVERY nickel A++. In the end, just wanting to thank Troy and Mikaela and their team, Todd and crew, for making this BFCF birthday celebration such a fun and memorable success. I look forward to working with you again and doing Italian next time as I've learned that spaghetti and meatballs is another Ranch Eats favorite! With...
Read moreHired Ranch Eats to cater our wedding reception out at Hynd's Lodge and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was great as always but that was never in question. The ease of working with them was what made hiring them for our wedding a great choice. A few times we ran into issues with insurance and the State of Wyoming. Each time Ranch Eats handled their part promptly and professionally - I really appreciate it.
The one very slight issue we did have was regarding a miscommunication about setup times. Contract said they would arrive at 4pm but a week before the wedding they asked via email if they could arrive at 2:45 for setup - absolutely no problem on our end. 2:45pm rolls around to 3pm and Ranch Eats isn't anywhere to be found. Coordinator goes off to call them asking where they are and apparently the person who answered was a bit snippy and ended with something along the lines of "We'll be there at our contracted time of 4pm".
Long story short - they did arrive at 4pm, the staff who catered it was wonderful to engage with, and outside of that very minor hiccup everything was great.
PS: There was a review earlier that talked about the plastic knives for the prime rib. We had the same issue too - those knives suck. Clearly not an issue since all the prime...
