The Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter in Chains is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and is named after St. Peter, the first pope of the Catholic Church.

The cathedral was originally built in 1841 and was dedicated in 1845. It was designed by architect Henry Walter and features a Greek Revival style with a large central dome and two smaller domes on either side.

The cathedral is home to several notable features, including a bronze statue of St. Peter by Italian sculptor Angelo Bianchi, a marble altar and pulpit, and stained glass windows depicting scenes from the life of St. Peter.

One of the most famous artifacts housed in the cathedral is the chains that are said to have bound St. Peter when he was imprisoned in Rome. These chains were brought to Cincinnati in 1845 and are displayed in a reliquary beneath the main altar.

Absolutely stunning Church to attend anyday of the week .. I like the 11:30am Mass cause I can leave my house at 11am and walk at a good pace and still get there with time to spare .. That weekday morning Mass is very intimate, as it is in the side of the Main Church, in an alcove with an altar and pews .. Usually only about 15 parishioners at that Mass .. The Artwork is breathtaking .. You really get that "In Christ" feeling in the Main Church .. The ceiling is about 100 feet tall with artwork ..
